How EXACTLY are we supposed to pronounce "Lelouch?"

I mean, I've tried to figure it out, but all sound weird to me. I just don't quite get how Ruruushu is supposed to translate to Lelouch. ( "Lay-loach?" "Lee-lock?" "Lee-looch?")

I know the dub is coming out soon, but I wanna know if, as of yet, there is an official pronunciation for it. Cuz I'm stumped.

Yeah, I say 'leh-looch', too.

I guess the REAL question is how to pronounce Geass.

I say it it like of like that too, but with more focus on the GEE

i usually say something like Ru-ruchu ...because it's what his name sounds like...other than that in portuguese it sounds like Lil' OUCH xD

I'm not entirely sure how Lelouch couldn't be pronounced that way? I mean, the ouch as "oosh" makes perfect sense to me, and e's can be pronounced with a somewhat oo sound to them in certain words and accents of english, even, so while it isn't the most natural pronunciation of his name's spelling, I don't see how it's impossible.

I also pronounce it "leh-looch", although I can see where "Ruruushu" comes from. :o

Based on my watching of CG, I hear it as "leh-LOOSH" and "GEE-uhs" (hard "g").

It does give me a little smile to pronounce it "GAY-ASS", though. XD

It's a French name, so it's said
"Le-loosh" (hence the Japanese proununciation of "rurushu")

i pronounce it as le-loosh....but i say lulu more xD!!!

if u watch the trailer for the dub...they say it kinda wierdly [or maybe its just me] along with geass.

I say LuLu too xD!

Let's see... Taking in consideration the difference between French and English pronunciation... you get something like: Luh-loosh.

At least, that's how I believe it should be (since if it was "Le-loosh", the 'e' will sound like 'eh' instead of 'uh').

It's Leh-loosh... and Rurushu in Japanese. =P

I always just say Loo-loosh? But a combo of that & Luh-Loosh?

I always just say Loo-loosh

oh yay, i say it that way too. ^^

I'd put my money on LEH-loosh, with the "Lulu" coming from the good ol' Romanization issues for R and L sounds. The Japanese characters become "Rurushi" with a silent vowel on the end, I think.

I've always said Leh-looch too...

I pronounce it the same way as the Japanese, except I replace the "r"s with "l"s and get rid of the u at the end. So it's like, Ruruushu --> Luluush :)

I pronounce it the french way. The name is french so I'll say it that way too

in my language (japanese) we say "luluushu"
...err
so

Luluush?
Well, when i talk to my American/English speaking friends, we say
Le (like lee but the e's short)- loo - sh

Well, actually "Lelouch" is French so "Le-loosh" would be correct. But since Japanese are just...wierd with foreign language stuff, they funnily made the Katakana" Luluushu" instead of "Leluushu"? Don't ask me way. They should just abandon that stupid Katakana stuff if you ask me. lol

But I pronounce it the French way.

I have always pronounced it as Leh-loosh.

Depends on which way you want to say it -- since the Japanese say it "Rurushu" because of their accent. The French say it "Lee-loosh", if I'm not mistaken.

I don't think either is wrong since it's just a variation, if you catch my badly worded drift.

French pronunciation for me too. I guess it makes more sense since the name is French and it matches the Japanese transliteration a little better than the English option.

Nope, going off Johnny's audio on the official dub site, they're using the French pronounciation.

I don't think any American dubbing company would use "Luuluush" when his name is clearly L-E-L-O-U-C-H. But this coming from a girl who's just grateful they aren't saying it "Leh-lowch". XD

I always spelled it like Lelouche XD

I dunno if that makes it even harder to pronounce but it doesn't make me think too much about japanese and their way with english words = =+

I think it's Lei-loosh.

I've always said it the way it's said in the anime.

Lu-loosh

But most of the same I usually just say Ruurushu

Luh-loosh is the way I pronounce it. It's closest to the Japanese. Close enough to the french translation I think. I suppose Loo-loosh would be fine too. Though I call him Lulu most of the time. :)
