Never mind, problem solved =D

So I was watching R2, and when the video paused to load, I noticed something strange about the opening introduction.

The Empire started in America?

Now, I'm not the most observant of people, so I could've missed something while I was watching. However, I thought that Britannia started in, well, Europe. Can someone please direct me to some information to ease my confused mind?

Sorry if this is a repost, or against the rules, or something ^^; New to the community and LJ in general.

that map isn't exactly an accurate representation of the world. (did canada separate from north america, or is that an extra large greenland?)

but i read somewhere that in the show, there was never a usa, and it remained a colony of britannia... maybe they moved their headquarters to a bigger and more accessible location?

or we're just reading into it too much and they really are referring to britannia as today's usa. O_o it IS the economic colonizer of the world.

I was wondering about Australia's fate in Code Geass too, actually XD As well as loling over the Kiwis being part of Brittania. Although, I hope they don't have some kind of 'Area ___' name as well D:

i take it you're australian? XD wasn't australia also a britannian colony long ago?

and wasn't cornelia at war in africa, or something? the european union? or is my world history messing up what i remember from the show?

i have to watch season 1 again.

I think it's a projection (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Map_projection) issue.

From the overlarge polar areas, it seems a cylindrical projection was used..
