Britannia's Origins?

Never mind, problem solved =D

So I was watching R2, and when the video paused to load, I noticed something strange about the opening introduction. 

The Empire started in America?

Now, I'm not the most observant of people, so I could've missed something while I was watching. However, I thought that Britannia started in, well, Europe. Can someone please direct me to some information to ease my confused mind?

Sorry if this is a repost, or against the rules, or something ^^; New to the community and LJ in general.

The more I stare at that, the more I wonder if Sunrise is just reusing the 00 maps with some slight alterations.

Sunrise is known for recycling, I wouldn't be surprised if the mechas suddenly turned Gundams... *shot*
