So I was watching the second episode the other day and as the opening ended, and the title ran, a thought started nibbling at me:

First, there is the setup, or the "pledge," where the magician shows the audience something that appears ordinary but is probably not, making use of misdirection. Next is the performance, or the "turn," where the magician makes the ordinary act extraordinary. Lastly, there is the "prestige," where the effect of the illusion is produced. There are "twists and turns, where lives hang in the balance and you see something shocking you've never seen before.

The first season's episodes were all the Stage or the set up, this season we have the Turn. Given the connection this show has to magic and Suzaku's as yet unexplained "I will not ask for your forgiveness" line in the episode one flashback I'm tempted to say that we may have another season on our hands. Thoughts?

Sure as long as it ends before the end of the decade, I don't want to wait another 2 years on a cliffhanger.

As long as we have more Hailing of Britannia, i'm all for it.

I apologise if I come off as rude, but honestly, quoting entire paragraphs from a Wikipedia entry about a movie (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Prestige_%28film%29#Plot) directed by a man who only knows of stage magic on base research done for the movie, and based on a book written by a man who never practiced stage magic either?

Come on. There are theories and then there are grasping for straws.

I'd be glad for a new season ... of course they should not make us wait a hundred years for it.

Another season doesn't sound bad to me. I'm so addicted to Code Geass right now and I don't mind another set of episodes to lighten me up. As long as there's more Lelouch and C.C., then it's okay.

i'm up for another season as long as it won't degrade the greatness of the series. i'm already damn scared enough for R2. you know how things sometimes turn out bad instead of good when they're stretched >.<

OT: I LOVE THE PRESTIGE!

I'm sure that there's going to be a third season.
1) A.A. - Z.Z. still hve to make an appearance ;D
2) More of Lulu's half-siblings
3) They've introduced way tooo many new characters in R2 that it would be a waste, furthermore I don't think that they'd be cover the whole story and everyone's backgrounds etc with just one aditional season to R1 :/

I was pretty sure they had a multi-season plot already written with alternate endings for each season in case it doesn't get renewed.

Like Heroes already has five years worth of story wrote, they just need to keep getting renewed to film all five seasons. I heard Code Geass was done similarly.

I'll be damned if I can remember where. *Headdesk*

The official info I've heard time and again is that Code Geass was planned for 50ish episodes (2 seasons), but was only guaranteed 1 season at the start of its broadcast. So if by "multi-season" you mean 2, then yes. But I have never once heard of there being plans for more than 2 seasons.

That would be interesting. I vaguely thought of that while watching episode one, how it was called Turn 01. Didn't come to this reasoning, but ti would make sense.

But like everyone else, they shouldn't make us wait forever. Theres a fine line between building anticipation and just watching us trip over ourselves for whats next.
