Hey guys, let's get some good discussion going here!
I especially want to hear everyone's thoughts on the way Lelouch manipulated Rolo (oh, and I guess that is the official spelling now). Is it not what the majority of us predicted?
Really? My first thought when I heard the first of those lines spewed out from his lips was, "...bastard of all bastards." Tho I must admit not only is it a brilliant plan, it's prolly the only one he's got on hand to come out the victor of all hands, in a situation where no loss is minor, no less, but I'm seriously seeing less and less of the line between him and his old man.
Srsly, someone needs to shoot him. Maybe not to kill, not so early anyway, cos that'd prematurely end the series, but enough to make him hurt and bleed enough to feel a certain sense of hopelessness. That'd oughta make him get back in touch with his human side (with regards to other human beings) and wake him up before he goes past the point of no return. -.-;;
I guess it depends on how his relationship with Rolo develops further. Would it be one that has a silver lining, or would it be one that's rotten at the core? The answer would define Lelouch's character outcome in my books.
...are my initial thoughts right after watching episode 4. Thinking about it though, it does come to mind that what he's doing is one of the few ultimate self-sacrifices. I'm aware he said something about having to be the biggest evil of them all but...I don't really want him to see him go down that path and not look back even a bit cos even though he'll retain the very essence of his being, at least, he'll still lose everything else in order to achieve his goal.
that said, I still think he's a lot more like his old man than i'm sure he'd like to admit. xD
Um. Suzaku didn't shoot him, but I think that was still pretty hurt, hopeless, and humanizing.
Lulu bounced back. Curses!
I think Lulu losing everything is supposed to be a theme, here. Since the geass contract did state it would condemn him to a life of solitude 'n' all that. Hurts to watch, though.
