I thought I would share with the community the answer I received from Bandai. Since some people were wondering as well.

QUESTION:
I've been a really big fan of code geass since it aired in Japan. I just
recently watched the dub on the adult swim website, and no I haven't
e-mailed you to complain about it. I noticed that all the pizza hut ads
were censored out. Will it be like that on the dvds as well or will it
have the original imagery?

Thank you for taking you time in reading this, hope you hear from you
soon.

ANSWER:
Dear Kim,
Unfortunately, the Japanese rights holders did not clear the Pizza Hut logo for outside Japan, however we did try to get permission and Pizza Hut declined to give us permission.
So, unfortunately, we were unable to provide the Pizza Hut logo for broadcast and DVD releases.
Regards,

Strange. I always thought that companies...coorporate you know o.o''

But on the other hand...it's only Pizza Hut adds. What do I care, there is no Pizza Hut in Switzerland anyway :D

ah but you're talking about the dub. I agree with you on that...although seeing what Cloverway would have had to do to Stars to make it "American-audience safe" would have been hysterical, I'm sure XD But Stars wasn't even brought over as a subtitled DVD release for the reasons I gave before (they probably thought that fans of the dub would buy dvds of the new series not realizing it wasn't edited to be like the tv show and be appalled).

So yeah, I'm sure Pizza Hut was thinking along those lines. That and the terrorist thing ^_^

I don't see why they wouldn't photoshop a new logo into the episode if it can be done for the worldwide release of the series. :S It's just really retarded that Pizza Hut/KFC/A&W/Taco Bell are declining use of the logo when it would be a shitload of profit gain for their conglomorate.

Silly companies and their politics. -_-

That would be weird if the anime companies just make the Canadian version without the edits- not sure they'll think it's worth the cost. But if they do, how hard is it to buy a Canadian version unedited online? Since I think Canadian DVDs are also Region 1, so they'll work on US DVD players.

No me gusta. I'd seriously be surprised if they even watched the entire series all the way through to find every reference with their logo. Unless Bandai got stupid and showed every one of them to the company. Oh, Bandai... sneak a few back in will ya? ;_;

YUM! FOODS NOOOOOES D:

They can be sued for a LOT of money if they aired even one of the ads (though, considering how many ads there are, one or two might be mised...I never realized how many there were until I started the Code Geass Text Files).

Considering the amount of ads, they might just create a product for the show to slip into all the ad spots (perhaps a Code Geass only pizza chain, like Detective Conan/Case Closed's "Mantendo")

tehehe, Kyouya <3

It would be weird... I usually order from Amazon.ca but i doubt they would ship to the US. They'd probably just say to go to Amazon.com instead... either way, if by some weird chance it does happen then I'm sure fans would be willing to buy it in Canada then ship it to the US ^^; and yep, same region! I emailed Bandai anyway to see if the same thing applies to the Canadian versions... if so.. well, I'm all out of ideas :\

Really Pizza Hut! Really?! Baka! How stupid is that. Are you guess doing that much better than Papa Johns & Domino's that you don't need the free publicity.

I appologise if it appears I was bashing Bandai. that truly wasn't my objective/opinion. That is why I stated it wasn't cool of "Bandai/Pizzahut" for the editing, I understand that there is nothing more Bandai can do about it, I was just venting my opinion on how un-cool it was.
and it does have to do with America. Obviously they don't have issues with showing Pizza-Hut in the Japanese versions, nor in other countries though I can't say that for sure. So it really is a thing that was the "American Pizza-Hut's" decision. for whatever reasons they chose to keep it out of American versions therefor it has everything to do with America or the American audience/viewpoint if you will.
Personally I only watched the first episode to see how the voice acting/dubb was and although a couple things they did really drive me crazy... I wasn't in the opinion of them doing a bad job. The companies keep getting better about editings and dialoge and such, but like in all things they do still have a way to go.

Amusing as it would have been... I'm sure I would have had to cry Xo
hmmm... that's wierd, there's no actuall release for Starlight on dvd's???
I know of an apperant american sub version released in a boxset from Tioe-co (I think)or somthing like that for DVD... It contains no dubb or anything just sub, but it didn't seem like a china-sub. *shrug* that was a couple years back though.

ah, now I am woundering if they allowed the logos for only Japan or other countries besiedes America will have to edit them out. Curious curious.

Sorry as well if I came off rough. I think it was me judging you from your icon since I know a bunch of people who used to use ones like that. I even know the original creator. And yes, you are right it is American Pizza Hut that is against the sponsorship. I guess it has something to do with the environment here. I understand the frustration at not having the pure versions. I just think it's a jump to fear them editing out other stuff just because they have to honor a copyright. That's what rubbed me the wrong way.
