This episode was really more about the angst and drama than advances in plot, so this is less of a cohesive discussion and more a collection of observations.

Nunnally... is a sweet girl. A really sweet, earnest girl who's full of sparkles and bubbles and flower petals. Which makes her a really terrible politician. It's hard to imagine what she could have done that would have been worse than announcing the reestablishment of the SAR. It's my pet theory that without Zero offering to work with her, Nunnally would have probably been ousted as governor very soon.

And I wish the producers would give her more of a personality, because currently, she's just the Euphinator Euphemia V.2.0. (Which means she is destined to have a love affair with Suzaku. >_>)

With Kaguya rejoining the Black Knights, Lelouch's harem now has an official name. -__- It's sort of sweet. In a very awkward kind of way.

And I think that with this episode, we probably don't need to worry about Lelouch throwing Rolo away, because the boy can obviously look out for himself. I like how he's playing mind games with Lulu now, partly as payback, partly to drive Lulu up a wall and convince him to forget about being Zero. I fear for Nunnally if Rolo ever meets her.

Lelouch's confrontation with the Refrain thugs filled me, simultaneously, with great horror and amusement. He was obviously losing it really fast, but that evil, batshit crazy laugh? That will never not be crack. XD

C.C. talks to dead people (specifically Marianne) again. D: I demand backstory and further explanations, damnit! (Maybe she and V.V. and others like them are some sort of Death Gods who came from Jupiter seeking a way to break their curse of eternal youth and immortality. /crack)

The entire scene with Lelouch and Kallen was just ouch. It's almost heartbreaking to see Lelouch reduced to such a state that he'd consider drugs and sex as ways of escaping. But. You can't deny that he was just asking to be kicked in the face with his "That's something women can do, right?" line. Lulu you twit. Who do you think you're talking to? She's arguably the best pilot in your entire resistance. Thus, Kallen: 2, Lelouch: 0.

I find it extremely amusing that Sunrise chose to follow the Kallen scene with a Rolo scene. It's like they had to balance it out to reach their weekly ghey quota. XD Because if Rolo's speech wasn't a declaration of love, then all language has lost its meaning.

I love the student council. With all my heart. That scene was just beautiful. :'D (I still think that one of the best things about Code Geass is that even though Lelouch is a heartless, manipulative bastard who doesn't give a flip about honor, he still has a heart and people he loves. That doesn't excuse him of his blatant selfishness, cruelty, or disregard for life, but that shows that he's still human. Which is more realistic and interesting than someone who doesn't care about anything or anyone else in the world other than himself.)

It's good that Lelouch has realized that he can't be Zero for Nunnally alone anymore. The point is that he no longer has the right to stop. He hasn't had that right since he shot his half-brother in the face at point-blank range. He's spilled too much blood and given too many people hope for him to turn back now. The decision is completely out of his hands. He has to continue his rebellion, even if it goes against Nunnally's wishes. He has to do it for Kallen, for the Black Knights, and for every Japanese person who's died clutching a picture of Zero.

It's funny that Lelouch with a map and a phone > three knights of the round and an entire fleet of the Britannian navy. You'd think they would have realized beforehand that there was a giant tank of methane hydrate in the general vicinity of their missiles. >_> Hello, deus ex machina.

I love how C.C. starts to turn to smile at Kaguya before realizing what she's doing and looks away. XD

Episode 8 seems to be more plot-focused. I'm really curious about how Villetta and Rolo are going interact with Lelouch. Maybe Lelouch will win her over with the promise of letting her see Ougi. 8D And I'm assuming that Lelouch is addressing Nunnally in his voice over?

Lelouch deserved a kick to the balls for that "that's something women can do, right?" line. I totally expected that, seriously. Slapping is for girls, and Lelouch is more girly than Kallen, come on!

On Suzaku, he really does know about Zero=Lulu, I'm sure, he's not in denial anymore, really. *prays*
