Code Geass cosplay at the London MCM




That's me (C.C.) and my lovely friend Yuki (Lelouch) and a lot of great people we found at the MCM. I was the only C.C. in the whole convention! :O
My outfit was made in 2 nights, so I'm not really proud of it. The MCM was at the same time as my finals at uni so i didn't have time...(that's why i only had time to paint the tip of the boots but not the knees!) :/

The MCM (about 20-30.ooo people) happens twice a year, in may and october. But there are quite a few more events around! so you should come along! (the london board of tourism paid me for this ;P)

*jumps in randomly* Our Suzaku and Guilford had to wear boots like that because in group cosplay, height ratio is very important... some people may have a good face for a character, but they are not as lucky to also have the height, and the ratio between everyone is important for the group to look right.

The only way to make up height and to bring them to the actual characters' heights (or relative heights in comparison to the rest of the group) is by wearing boots, and they both already tried to choose more manly looking ones rather than the hooker boots that a lot of people chose to wear. The opposite is also true - I had to wear practically flats for Cornelia because I was already at her height or taller, and Guilford and Suzaku would look too short in comparison. orz Personally, I would rather have a Guilford who is at the correct height but with heels rather than a very short Guilford with flat shoes. xDDDDD

Hahaha yes, if it is a solo photoshoot, then flats or shoes which are much less high heeled would be better, but we usually all photoshoot as a group~ It is much easier in a photoshoot though, because when you are the photographers yourselves (since we shoot our own photoshoots as well), you can choose what to show in the photo and what not to. *w*

Oh trust me, I've seen way higher, and much more bitch-looking heels like that. I do understand why you would get nitpicky about boots. I myself dislike wearing them when they are not under trousers, and the character isn't flamingly gay. However, compromises are to be made in a group when you want to get the relative heights right. Not everyone is the right height for their characters, some are too tall, some are too short, so adjustments (especially for the short ones, as the tall ones can't possibly cut off their legs), will have to be made.

Besides, during a con, unless you are permanently looking down, most people would look at the upper portion of the body first and would usually choose to nitpick on your face, and whether you are fat or not first and foremost, so for most cosplays, footwear isn't the first thing you want to get accurate.

One more thing to understand is that we did not really intend for these costumes to show the footwear when we photoshoot them, since alright fine... Suzaku would not wear tall heels although it would have been more useful if he did have them when he did that magical kick. It's just that it's a bloody con pic and you have no control of how and where people would take photos of you.

I actually didn't notice the boots till i looked at the pics! so i suppose if the outfit is goodl most people wouldn't notice them. (But i still think it's quite funny, the idea of Suzaku and Guilford with kinky boots >.>)

You're so lucky; you managed to get them all together! I was there this year and I only got them in separate groups, including the Lulu and CC. I feel sorry for the Euphie group, they couldn't take a step without being stopped to take photos, even on the way to the bathroom ^^;

There was such a huge Code Geass group; I was quite surprised considering it hasn’t been showed here yet. Kudos to the Suzaku who went up for the masquerade! *cheers*

This year we have 2 days of Cosfest. So one day doing school uniforms and the other day, LuLu is doing casual and C.C. is doing the red lolita getup. =)

Ahaha, thanks a lot - the gloves were not complete because I was still in the middle of my uni portfolio hand in rush and therefore did not have time to finish it off. Dx I also... forgot to bring my cravat and had to make another one out of scrap pieces of white fabric on the morning of the Expo. 8D;;; *wins at life like that*

I would have expected there to be more C.C.s too, but surprisingly there weren't. XDD I guess CG is not really that popular in the UK quite yet, and not many people know it? Dx
