Code Geass, along with Gundam is dominating every anime magazine ranking >___< It doesn't seem to slow down any time.[Poll #1204353][Poll #1204353]
Female Anime Character - The best 10 in popularity (人気ベスト10):

No. 1 = C.C. (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2)
No. 2 = Karen Kouzuki "Kallen Stadtfeld" ( Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2)
No. 3 = Izumi Konata (Lucky Star)
No. 4 = Rei Ayanami (Neon Genesis Evangelion)
No. 5 = Nagisa Furukawa (Clannad)
No. 6 = Lacus Clyne (MS Gundam Seed)
No. 7 = Sumeragi Lee Noriega (Gundam 00)
No. 8 = Sheryl Nome (Macross Frontier)
No. 9 = Shana (Shakugan no Shana II)
No. 10 = Ranka Lee (Macross Fronter)

C.C.'s doing nothing and still at the top. Awesome!!!! Though Kallen's climbing up fast.

New character Sheryl Nome from Macross Frontier is pretty hot and sure has the potential of going higher. I don't know what the hell Lacus's still doing in this ranking though o___O

Double win >____< I must agree that S1 is better than R2.

C.C.'s #9 and Kallen's #12, and I'm pretty sure that Lelouch's still holding on his #1 spot and Suzaku is somewhere between# 2-8 ^^

I personally prefer Kallen to C.C. (and like them both quite a lot!), but I think Cornelia is better than both of them put together. ...but, uh. Yeah. -_-;; And lol wrong comm, but Sumeragi from 00? I had no idea she was that popular!

your question alone proves how interesting Sumeragi is. She must be one of, if not the most boring main female character in the gundam universe O__-

I have to agree. I like her, but Gundam 00 just has some of the most bland, unimportant females I've seen in a Gundam show. And Gundam isn't exactly the best series at having strong, dynamic female roles. =/

I wouldn't even have thought of her as main, TBH. I'm not sure who I would call the main female of 00 -Marina, maybe-, but... yeah, I'm really surprised. It's not that I dislike her, just that I hadn't considered her as that much of a crucial character, and most of the others are the leading ladies of their respective shows.
