You guys can contribute to this after you've watched Turn 13, but now I just want to let this all go from my chest.

So Cornelia just got herself into trouble with V.V. I wonder what's going to happen to her.

But that's no big deal.

I now fear Rolo's existence. I knew I wanted Shirley to die (sorry Shirley fans!) but I damn well never wanted Rolo to be the one who killed her!

We know Lelouch said at the beginning that he wanted to use Rolo and then discard him like trash. I was hoping that he'd change as time goes by, that he won't do that to Rolo.

But now that Rolo killed Shirley... I don't know what's going to happen after this. It's like Suzaku and Lulu and Euphy all over again.

And I was looking forward to Rolo joining Lulu in the final stage with Vincent to. Think he still have the chance?

Or is this the cue telling us that Sunrise is going to kill off Rolo too in the end?

*sigh*

EDIT:

Don't you think it's just so heartbreaking when Lulu tried to order Shirley "DON'T DIE!!" repeatedly? T_T

And Jeremiah is so LOVE in this episode :)

I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING.

The problem is that it would have been no trouble for Rolo to just grab the gun from Shirley. Not to mention, I think the gun was gone when Lelouch arrived on the scene (someone clarify this?). Things aren't looking good for Rolo, to tell the truth. I mean, we'll see.

I really want this to be the case. *sob* I'm just hoping there is a reason why we didn't actually see the murder happen and it wasn't just a "yeah fill in the blanks. Fill in the blank, and DESPAIR."

If we could see Euphie get shot, I'm sure we could have seen Shirley get (shot?) as well.

But because we DIDN'T--this makes me wonder.

I'm going to go back and look for the gun on the scene, but a part of me kinda wants Suzaku to have accidentally killed her. I just love angst for that boy.

I don't know if the gun was on scene when Shirley was found, I need to check again. But either way...I still smell something funny here.

YEAH! EXACTLY, they showed Euphie getting shot, I figured there wasn't really much of a reason to leave out Shirley getting shot. They showed worse on the show before.

And the gun... If Rolo did do it, he must have been really shocked to just leave the murder weapon. This is a trained assassin, he wouldn't leave tracks. dskljdlsa.

Furthermore, if he did it, wouldn't he finish the job? Shirley was still alive! I mean, this kid kills people for a living, I don't think he would have left her alive long enough to potentially tell someone who did it. I know she must have been shocked from getting shot so quickly, but the last person she saw was Rolo... therefore...?

MAYBE THERE'S HOPE YET. WE NEED APOLLO JUSTICE STAT TO GET ROLO OUT OF THIS.

I don't think they left it out for gruesomeness sake, but rather scene flow. All you need is the set up. Had we seen her get shot, the following scene would be lost in the sudden surge of emotion.

Euphy's death had a much different set-up. The whole sequence was mass slaughter caused by her Geass. The audience sees her get shot as it's from Suzaku's perspective. Since all the players are present, there's no need to obscure her getting shot. In fact, it would weaken the moment as it's the climax of the scene. (It's been awhile since I've seen the episode, and that's what I remember, pardon any inaccuracies)

Shirley getting shot is not the only plotline at her moment. There's also Orenji's defection. She what Shirley is doing and what Lelou is doing have to be balanced. Showing the second up to the shot is sufficent in building the tension just enough that it doesn't overpower the next scene. We can focus on the Gottwald scene while fretting for Shirley, or dreading what Rolo will do. Had we seen it, the entire scene would've been overshadowed by, "He did it!, I can't believe he mother-f*cking did it!" We also don't get confirmation of her fate until Lelouch does. If Lelou had been in the room, we would've have seen her get shot. since her death itself is the climax of the sequence, her being shot only needs to be set-up, not depicted.

As for why he didn't finish her despite being a "pro". Maybe the act of shooting her made him snap, realising he'd just hurt his brother with his actions. He could of realised Lelouch was bound to find her, and figured being around wouldn't be good. With his time stopping ability, he probably figured she'd be too bewildered to figure he did it, so the odds of her blabbing were slim.

The real reason - then we wouldn't have the heartbreaking farewell. Lelou finding her dead would be sad. Lelou finding her dying, with him powerless to stop it and her pouring out how much she wanted to mean to him, heartbreaking and character defining. She had a great death, which eases the pain of seeing a beloved character go. Shame she only got to kiss Sayoko (not that she knew that...) Or even a sappy "I love.." from either character.

Besides, only Suzaku was on the scene, and unless he wanted her dead, he wouldn't have left her to bleed to death. It's not in his character. For him to shoot her and leave her, he'd either want her dead, or be oblivious that he'd done it.

So either Rolo did it, or an unknown third party. Besides, imagine the drama the second Lelou finds out... It's the perfect way to finish him off. I bet he even endangers Nunnaly. I just hope they don't pull a "Tenchi in Tokyo" moment (you messed with my family, but since you're obviously just a confused little child, I won't so much as even spank you).

Wow, I've been so caught up in the death scene that I forgot the order of events. So forget the Orenji thing. ^_^;;

Still, omitting the shooting allows us to confirm things with Lelou, and leaves open Rolo's train of thought for speculation. Unlike Euphy, all players weren't present, and Rolo's reaction was decided to be unknown, whereas we know Lelouch's thoughts as he shot Euphy.

Still, did Lelou really need more tragedy to motivate him? No, but Shirley couldn't serve a better purpose at this point I suppose, outside of being the girl he could've came home to (assuming he comes home).
