Do you think it's possible that she's joined Nunnaly's quest for worldwide peace on changing the empire from the inside? As you may have noticed, she appears alongside all those Brittanian folks in the new opening(which is mighty hot, I must add). I think it'd make sense. After all, we last saw Kallen when Nunnaly finally opened her cell gate.

Oh, and another thing I might question. Rollo most likely killed Shirley, but will Lelouch think that Suzaku killed her? You know how he goes analytical and would possibly assume it was Euphie's revenge...

I definitely don't think Lelouch will suspect Suzaku. Suzaku just saved Shirley's life in this episode. And even if it was for some sort of revenge, Suzaku wouldn't take it out on Shirley, and Lelouch knows that.

The only way Suzaku would've killed Shirley was if he saw her gun pointed at him and his LIVE Geass activated and he shot her in defence. But I don't think Lelouch would even think of that scenario.

Even though Lelouch and Suzaku are pretty much bitter enemies now, they still know each other very well, and Lelouch trusts Suzaku.

But he might be somewhat pissed at Suzaku. "Leaving Shirley with Suzaku is probably the safest thing right now" is what he thought, and he left Shirley in Suzaku's care. Suzaku's failure to protect Shirley will shake Lelouch's trust in him to protect Nunnally.

On the Kallen note, I can't see her betraying Lelouch in anyway. I can see her being loyal to Nunnally for saving her (plus the fact that Nunnally is Lelouch's sister, Kallen serving Nunnally is kind of still serving Lelouch) so I think she might be on the same side as Nunnally, but only because Lelouch is on the same side as Nunnally.

I don't see the emperor rewriting her memory- although it would be interesting, I don't think he deals with such small-scale things like that.

But I do think Suzaku's absence in Shirley's death scene is weird. He was looking for Lelouch when it all happened, why was Shirley on the right track to finding Lelouch (some 18 year old school girl) have more tracking sense then Suzaku, a trained military soldier. Either he has absolutely no sense of direction or I smell plot twist or plot hole or random anime coincidence that shall never be explained.

Your icon is ftw btw xD

He was helping out with the fire department and security people and not really looking for Lelouch.

He would have his hands full with that if he thought that all the smoke and such + knocked out security guards were the work of terrorists unrelated to the Black Knights who are all exiled and out of Japan. Maybe he was looking for Lelouch but with so many people around, he wouldn't go running to find someone that he has bitter feelings towards.

eta: went back to refresh memory and this is the last time we see Suzaku in the episode:

Aah thanks, I watched this ep on veoh and the subtitles were tiny.

But I still think he would've looked for Lelouch, because of his suspicions of him still being Zero and since he did think this was a terrorist attack, and because he does still believe Lelouch is Zero, I think it would make sense for him to go look for Lelouch. But obviously he prioritised the people first and helped the fire fighting... even though there was no fire was there? lol

Suzaku is a soldier first and foremost. Yes, he would take care of the people first and then go off and do the Zero thing. The only reason he ever prioritized Zero before is because he had backup or was CRAZY at the time. Suzaku acknowledges his responsibility, and we have seen this since 8 when he chose to let the Zeroes go.

But yeah, Suzaku would be the last person Lelouch would ever suspect of killing their friend. The two have their issues, but they've always tried to separate civilian and battlefield.

Yeah, he might have gone to look for Lelouch but his duty certainly comes first. Kind of like episode 2 of season 1 where he really wanted to go find Lelouch but had his hands full piloting the Lancelot. He's pretty good about doing what he needs to do first. Except for the time he was crazy. :3

Where there's smoke, there's fire? lol. Probably looking for a bomb or something too.
