Marianne's murder

Does anyone have any ideas about who killed Marianne? And why? I think it might have been V.V., but what would be his motive for killing her? What would be anyone's motive for killing her? Why not kill one of the other wives? Why was she the one that was murdered? No one would gain anything. I mean, even if it was a mistake that she was killed and the true objective was to kill Lelouch and Nunally. Lelouch and Nunally had absolutely no shot at the throne, so there would be no point in taking them out. The only was she was important (as far as I know) was that Cornelia looked up to her and she was Lelouch's and Nunally's mother. But then again, she must have been important enough for Jeremiah to be assigned to protect her.

Any ideas?

I do think that Anya could be a clone of Marianne because she almost looks like her. Plus, it just seems that she has a hidden relationship with Lelouch especially during that one episode in the recent season in japan that has her tripping out over LULU..I don't know that is my assumption

They are canon. They are included on the DVD releases and intended to supplement the story. They are as canon as the drama CDs. The only questionable canon in the Geass continuum is the novels. Well, technically the manga too but that is a whole other story. XD;;

I don't think Marianne is dead. She is alive scheming something....bodies don't just go disappearing for no good reason.

I'm not sure having Jeremiah assigned to her was an indicator of her importance, though; it was awhile ago, so he wouldn't have been nearly as senior. I still think she orchestrated the death herself, or that she at least had prior knowledge it would occur. Of course, I'm not sure why that would be. ^^;

Although, it'd be an interesting final twist if Lelouch found out that the Emperor really didn't have anything to do with her death, and that it was terrorists (or whatever the official excuse was).

At least that's what I like to think because otherwise it seems like things would be horribly unbalanced with so much in Lelouch's favour, no matter how many friends and family he's lost.

Leave it up to Sunrise to balance it out again.:D From what I've gathered on 2ch, Lelouch would find himself in a pretty crappy position around episode 17. So maybe a few allies that would stay for him no matter what was just the thing he needed, because he's going to lose a lot more from now on.

It's definitely possible; C.C. occasionally carries on conversations with Marianne, after all, and that in itself is has me wondering if Marianne isn't just floating around in Charles' pimp room of nothingness, just chillin', maybe in ghost form, maybe in a body . . . or something. I dunno, it's laaattte and I'm tired. XD
