Geass R1 DVD problems

I'm reading about the North American Geass DVDs on AOD and it sounds like many discs have playback problems. You can read here for more info. Mine hasn't shipped yet but hopefully when it does it'll be from a good batch. =.x

And since I'm posting here anyway, a lil update on the Geass project thingy. For all of you who sent me money, could you please PM me with your name (or nickname, though real name is probably best) and country so I can write it down when I send everything? Also, I received a letter for Fukuyama yesterday from someone in Johnson City, TN. Um, please tell me who you are on LJ? .^^; (And thanks for the crane!)

With the DVD glitches, it might mean a delay in sending the stuff so you guys just might have more time to send in your letters and stuff. .^^


EDIT: Thanks to cayterror, we have a response from Bandai:

After reading about the issue in the forums we have checked several copies from the batch which played fine. It should not be a widespread issue. However, most of the product have been shipped so we won't exactly know until the release date. If you are having doubts I would recommend waiting a couple days after the release date. We'll send out a press release if we find any major problems.

So I guess either it's just a bad batch or Bandai is playing ignorant. We'll find out soon enough.

Yeaah my 2nd DVD has glitches and then my manga had a printing problem where 16 pages were the same as 16 before it. >>

Well thats.... not cool. I've been on pins and needles waiting for this release. I was so excited for it. I guess I'm glad I didn't preorder yet. But man, that sucks.

And supposedly there are printing problems with the manga? O_o Thats.... not cool at all....

I'm glad I withheld my purchase until after the release date, and I'm going to hold off a bit more now because of this... I'll check out the manga at the bookstore to see if there are any problems...

I preordered mine from TRSI a month ago when they had a sale, so I don't want to cancel since I got a good deal. I had also ordered the Haruhi boxset at the same time, but since that is backordered, they haven't shipped mine yet. I'll wait and hope that by the time my ships, it'll be a from a good batch. If not, I've worked with the store's customer service before and they've always been very helpful. *want my shiny dvds!*

I was really eager to order this...especially the LE boxset (is it really limited edition in every sense and word?). Now I don't know whether to wait or not--especially since I'm sure the price for this will go back up once it's released.
