So who got their Geass DVDs? I just got mine today and both discs are defective. The extras menu don't load for either. I haven't watched all the episodes to make sure they work but since I've already found a flaw, I'm not going to waste my time.
Also, got the regular edition of Part 1 and TRSI's product page said that they come with books and character sketches. They don't. Had I known, I would have shelled out a few extra bucks and gotten the LE. Disappointed in that. But since I have two copies (one for Fukuyama), I guess I'll return the unopened one to try to get an LE instead.
But of course this means that sending the DVDs to Fukuyama will be delayed until Bandai sends out replacement discs. *sigh*
Anyone else dissatisfied with the way Bandai is handling the situation? Reports of bad discs were coming in days before the release date yet they haven't addressed the problem at all and continue to ship out defective discs. And dude, this is Code Geass. You know tons of people are going to be buying it! Hell, I rarely ever buy DVDs but I love this series so much that I'm getting it and this is what happens.
Any idea when replacement discs will start shipping?
If I can get an LE set where the DVDs actually work, I'll probably make a region free copy and give both those as well as the working originals to Fukuyama, then I'll keep the replacement discs when they come in. Hopefully I'll be able to ship out faster that way. Of course it still depends on Bandai though. *sigh*
Well, with that said, you've still got time if you want to participate in the letters to Geass seiyuu + DVDs for Fukuyama! Please go here for all the details.
And a big THANK YOU to all who've sent in letters and pitched in for the DVDs~
EDIT: There's a Kirihara/Lelouch doujinshi tag??? .x________x;;;

everyone might want to post a reply on ann's forum. the mod sometimes has an 'in' with the company and might be able to get a response from them. bandai really should release an official apology or something.
or better yet.
spam their blog - http://www.bandai-ent.com/blog/
or i guess the official way is to to through their contact page.

On the bright side, the LE boxset is a lot nicer (and prettier) than I was expecting from the pictures.

This is disappointing though, seriously. Bandai making this sort of mistake, for the.. *reads above comments* second or third time now? Jeez. I had more confidence in them before, but this takes the cake.

But I would think if it's a Macrovision problem then wouldn't it affect the entire disc and not just parts?? Then again I'm not too knowledgeable on that so *shrug*.

really pay attention to ep 9.
It's the most defective one I've heard about.
my ep 9 plays, however it pauses at least 4 times during it.
watched eps 7 & 8 today and they play fine. So I got off lucky, and the pauses in ep 9 are the only issues.
well there was a couple 'scrambles' on the first disc, but nothing to complain about. ^^

I just sent an angry (yet polite, somehow) "REPLACE MY DVDS, MOTHERFUCKER!" to Bandai. They'd better respond to that one. D
