And the yuri-ness... I hate it. I mean, Nina isn't a bad character and Euphie isn't either... It's just that Nina definitely has sexual affections for Euphie, and she knows/admits it too!!
Nanalie told Rival that people with something planned on the meeting of Euphie wont be allowed to meet her. In this case the something is interperted as a "sexual" or "for the riches" thing and when Nanalie finsihed her line and Rival was like "what!?", Nina looked down as if to hide her "true" feelings... GAH, the yuri-ness is killing me. Dx

I don't mind yuri in general... but Code Geass needs MORE YAOI. The main characters are all guys!! I mean, the females are more on the "side" "useless" people side... YAAAOOOOIIII-- K, not exactly Yaoi but at least Shounen Ai?

At least I got to see a cute Suzaku and Rival.

C2, I like her... but I don't like C2 and Lulu scenes. Dx
There's like less Lulu and a male scenes now. T-T;;

With all the het hints and the canon yuri, Geass is one of the least yaoi-leaning series I've seen in a while. If people want to ship Suzaku/Lelouch that's fine (although I don't find them particularly interesting as a romantic couple myself), but all the bashing of the het and yuri is starting to get on my nerves. o_O Especially considering how badass and cool so many of the female characters are. Lelouch would have been reduced to a fine red paste on the ground long ago if not for Kallen fighting for him and C.C. saving his ass in key situations.

I don't mind Shirley much anymore. I admit I didn't like her before, but she's been a really sympathetic character these past few episodes. Hard not to feel bad for the poor girl.

Too bad not everyone share the same feelings as you do. :( I've seen people accusing Shirley of using her father's death to kiss Lelouch, which just irks me. Shirley just isn't that sort of person.

awww...even I didn't think that. She was very upset and hugged Lulu for comfort. Most people would reach out for help orcomfort in such a tough situation. They happened to kiss, but even she seemed to feel bad about the kiss afterwards, it wasn't like she was gloating.

I don't particularly like Shirley or Lelouch/Shirley (although I have no problem with it as a tragic part of canon, like Kira/Fllay in SEED), but I still don't feel the need to run around babbling about what a horrible witch she is in public comms. :/

Well, she was never a horrible witch, but I was irked by the classic crush mentality that makes me despise fictional characters unless they are under 14; then they get a pass. But I'm an equal opportunity hater. I hate guys with that personality too.

I was bugged by the fact that she seemed to have no personality aside from being "sweet schoolgirl with a crush on Lelouch." There's nothing wrong with that. But I think the freaking out about her, especially from yaoi fangirls, was a bit much.

I admit I spazzed at first when I first saw the kiss pictures and before I watched the episode and realized the actual way it was done because I hate the idea of Lelouch being with anyone. I see it as completely against his character. But since episode 12, I've grown to like the setup a lot, not the pairing mind you, but the storyline between the two. I like what they did with Shirley's character. I think they made her someone to remember instead of just another dramatic female.

Agreed. I was never worried about it myself, though, but only because I just couldn't see the anime going in a permanently Lelouch/Shirley direction. I'm open to Lelouch winding up with someone eventually, though, but not until he's worked through a whole lot of issues, sheesh. Anything that starts now is bound to be screwed-up and doomed.

Personally I wouldn't mind it if he played a relationship for appearances. It's more a fic idea than anything, but I just like the idea of one of the girls bullying him into it for some wacky purpose/missions. Like I said, I love watching girls get the better of guys who are otherwise in complete control of things. The vulnerability is intriguing.

For me, I just liked the person LeLouch was around her better than Zero or the twisted person CC seems to want him to become. And while she may not have had the depth, yet, of someone like Kallen, in the end, she liked him for just being LeLouch. Not Zero, not a child of Britannia, not an accomplice, but LeLouch with the gambling on chess problem and who cares for his sister and who ran out to help people in a traffic accident when no one else would.

And that's what I liked about the pairing. It's apparently doomed, but I saw it from the start as highly possible. Where it goes from here, I have no idea. And recent developments have me liking Kallen more, but I'm still more interested in Suzaku/Euphie. I don't even know how much I like LeLouch aside from his school personality.

I agree. What's interesting is that Shirley wasn't deceived by Lelouch's fake persona.
She knew he had flaws but she saw the good in him (lol it sounds so cheezy). She wanted to know more and she started to love him despite his flaws.
I also liked the fact she wasn't ready to cut him some slack just because she loved him.
Anyway, people seriously underestimate Shirley's character. I think she was as developped as Kallen and Suzaku at this point. And I'm sure she'll come back at the end.

That was exactly my problem with her before. She just seemed like your typical zero-personality silly schoolgirl with a crush. But these past few episodes have changed my feelings about her. I don't necessarily like her, but I no longer dislike her like I did. Mostly I pity her.

I have no problem with a number of pairings in this series. I see LuLu/Shirley differently than Kira/Fllay in Seed, but aside from that, I do agree regarding the comment about the appropriateness of some of the commentary in the original post for a comm.
