Hey folks, I'm just here to pimp out the newest Code Geass fic community,
cg_contest .
What this comm does is, each week, starting this Sunday, one of the moderators will post a theme, and then from that day until Friday of the same week, the members of the community will have a chance to write for that prompt.
We welcome any pairing, character, genre, kink, or whatever, as long as it relates to the theme of that week. You can interpret the theme as loosely or as closely as you like, as long as its apparent that your story does in fact tie into the theme of the week.
Then on Saturday, a voting post will go up and then all the members of the comm can vote for whichever fic they thought was the best of that week. On Sunday, we'll tally up the votes and annouce the winner(s).
If you have any questions, there's a more detailed guideline in our profile, or you can go to our FAQ.
Our first theme post will be this Sunday, August 31st- I hope to see some of you there!

And on the drabble competing with someone's 2500 word tale... well, not to be cynical, but wouldn't that 2500 word tale show that person put more time and effort into their work? And in reverse, sometimes a well thought out drabble can have a far greater impact than a long, rambling story. It's all in the quality of the work.
Again, all these concerns are valid, but unless they become a real problem in the future, it's just something that has to be dealt with.

If this becomes a trend, naturally myself and my fellow moderator will have to change our stand on this, but for now, I'm afraid you'll just have to trust the integrity of others.
