Product Placement

Hey guys,

I was just wondering how everyone feels about the product placement in Code Geass.

Does it bother you that they have made advertising Pizza Hut part of the anime?

Or do you not really notice or care about it?

I would love to hear you opinions~

Half the fun of the episode is trying to find where they've put the Pizza Hut logo. (The other half is the crack.)

I don't know about you guys, but every time I see a Pizza Hut logo come up on screen, I automatically yell out "PIZZA HUT!"

It's part of CG's charm, lulz.

I don't mind, really. I like Pizza Hut, and the advertisements have become just another one of those things that make CG what it is. XD

It annoys me to no end.

I think Code Geas could have been one of those epic animes- that was about the incredible story, intricate character development and relationships, and a complex twist between sci-fi, mecha, and the tactics/war thing.

But then its value as a well, a "higher art" text is ruined because of firstly, the fanservice, and then secondly, the product placement.

I suppose Code Geass still makes it as a good anime, and the product placement can be seen as amusing. Plus an anime with the lulz and fanservice make more money and garner a lot of attention from like... crack, 2ch and more merchandise. But I think it ripped the potential out of Code Geass.

Code Geass will be remembered for
1. Lelouch's brilliant tactics, his chess, his character development, portrayal and design.
2. Kallen's boobs
3. Pizza Hut

I personally thought it was a nice thing to see. It's refreshing not to have random one letter changes and whatnot like Somy instead of Sony.

...Even if it makes me want pizza half the time.
