Hey guys,

I was just wondering how everyone feels about the product placement in Code Geass.

Does it bother you that they have made advertising Pizza Hut part of the anime?

Or do you not really notice or care about it?

I would love to hear you opinions~

I think that's maybe because it's so blatantly obvious~ If it was sneaky or subtle would you not approve of it?

I think it's actually funny, but I usually don't notice/care about it.
Like with the whole C.C. Pizza Hut thing, I just thought the logo was familiar but I didn't make any connections.
Someone had to flip the picture upside down for me to be all like "OH LOL HAY DELICIOUS DEEP DISH PIZZA"

Series need to be sponsered. It's more fun and interesting than a "This anime is sponsered by he following series:" at the start of every episode.

I agree with the above comments. Code Geass has the allure of a serious show that doesn't take itself seriously, and it wouldn't be the same without Pizza Hut.

It's better than the annyoing "This show is sponsered by ________". It just makes me want Pizza Hut from all the world to Cheeze-kuns and CG promotions D:.

They took it out because USA Pizza Hut did not give them permission to use their name in the show. You can't advertise for someone without their permission so to speak.

And to answer your question above as long as the product placement doesn't take away from the actual series then no I would not mind it. :)

I think it's charming and quite frankly, it's done well enough that it feels natural. And I appreciate the fact that because of the advertising, Geass has maintained a fairly consistent quality throughout the series.

Although I doubt it's something that would work for every series, I wouldn't be opposed to other series adopting similar arrangements.

I don't really care about it. Geass doesn't really seem like Geass anymore without the Pizza Hut ads and Cheese-kun.

Ah thank you, its a shame about the US Pizza Hut though. I'm assuming that Pizza Hut Japan is doing very well thanks to all the advertising CG is doing. Why wouldn't they want to try and do the same?
