Well, after watching the final episode 3 times and still crying about it... I am just curious on people's thought, reading the first discussion thread for the final episode [the one with over 600 replies ^^;;;], seems like most people think that the ending sucks or sunrise screw up CG!? [or it could just be because it is still spoiler time that most people haven't watched and understood the whole event of happening]

Here's my 2 cents about CG R2 in regard mainly toward Lelouch!?

I would admit that it is till the final episode, till everything wrapped up in such a beautiful, sad ending that I understood Lulu.  Since the start of R2, I had my doubt of his behavior... his way of thinking always seems so extreme that there were many points in times, I [and as well the world of Code Geass] didn't agree with his action.  To me, he seems to have changed from the kind-hearted and logical sense in Season 1 to a cold-hearted and "Why don't you see those people [who care] around you??" of R2.   He changed to a person that draw in people to dislike his action, and yet all those action are only a mask that he put forth! As he screamed at Rolo... "how much he dislike him, how many times he want to kill him" [which those are true] BUT the moment when Rolo was trying to save him and overusing his geass which would lead to his death... he screamed back without a second thought, "Your heart can't withstand it and you will die.  STOP USING THE GEASS"!!  Under the mask of his cold-hearted self still lie his kind-heart that has never changed.

When Nunnally was under hostile, despite knowing how much Suzaku has been waiting for the chance to expose him as Zero, he put down the mask and face him.  Despite it was an accident in geassing Euphie for the masscre, he never put in any excuse and accepted the fault and the sin all upon himself.  When Nunnally turned against him and rejected his action and misunderstood him as being such a despisable,  coward and cold-blooded murderer; all behind those mask, only lie a soft-heart that want to give a simple/peaceful world to Nunnally himself as his motivation since the beginning.  Setting up himself to be hated by everyone in the world, tainted himself with blood of sacrifice, making himself to be the sole ruler and most sinful person in the world... and in the end carrying out the plan of "Zero Requiem" for his own death to shine a future of hope to the whole world.

It is true he has never changed since the beginning.  His goal, his motivation, he stays true to the path he believe in...

Without a doubt, CG R2 is indeed a mess after the initial "death" of Nunnally, but I believe the ending wrapped up Code Geass quite nicely and is one terrific classic!!!  It is a sad ending and yet it also has the subtle happiness for the ending.  Lelouch finally is able to accomplish what he started off even though that mean carry alone all the hate upon him and sacrifice himself.  Lelouch is free from the burden of the sin, geass-nature, misunderstanding, the continuation of the war and the world.

And yes, I know it is an open end that it COULD mean Lelouch is still alive with the whole CC's speech in the end ^.~ But nevertheless, Lelouch is the boy who has been fighting this battle all alone and is ready to get himself killed just to seek a peaceful world for Nunnally and for everyone!! *sigh*

I thought it was a great ending. A good ending does not have to mean a happy ending.

There was no other way for Lelouch to redeem himself other than to die for the sake of others-and that was the case from the end of series 1. We may know that Lulu only ever wanted to save the world, but he was too selfish in the first series to do so-thinking too much of his small world with Nunnally. This ending may have him the target of hatred, but the three people closest to him know exactly who he was and what he did.

And I think it would ruin the ending if Lelouch was alive. For one, he's left Suzaku to do the cleaning up. Lulu wouldn't leave Suzaku to be Zero for the rest of his life so that he can drive hay carts. Two, it lessens the sacrifice he made if he's alive.

And I love the fact that Suzaku and Lelouch managed to reconcile. They ended as friends, and that was one of my major hopes for the series since they were pretty much pitted against each other in series 1 episode 1-that their friendship would win out.

I was happy that Nunnally is a figurehead in the new order, but not alone. She has the support of many and of those with good intentions.

The rest of the endings were pretty openended so I don't have much to say...

except I hope that Xingke is still alive. I really liked him, and Tianzi is too adorable to be without him!

here's the thing: the sacrifice he made (dying) is just as big as leaving Nunnally and walking away, knowing that he would have to trust her to others and herself. He trusted Suzaku and knew him enough to know that without any obstacles, the man would pull up and do the things the right way. Personally, I like him dead, but Sunrise being Sunrise, and Lelouch being Lelouch, I would not be surprised if he was alive, 'laughing and just as planed!'

I LOL'ed when Kallen said that :P

Oh, and when Nunnally met Ougi at the end, the ShenHu was at the background, so at least he got to leave a year or two more XDD

I personally liked the ending.

And seriously, if you look back on it, it couldn't have been such an amazing ending if Lelouch hadn't died. (Though I hoped and hoped and HOPED he wouldn't ;_;)

And after seeing the ending, you get the feeling that you really KNOW Lelouch. And then you start crying. Because you feel his pain and sacrifice and...and...-cries- LELOUCHHHHHHHH

Haha I made an oath today that whenever I was sad I would say "Lelouch...:(" Okay that was irrelevant.

It was an AWESOME ending. :)

people think the ending sucks cuz trolling rules and it makes you look cool on the internet

I agree completely. <3

I did think it was a good ending too. Yes, my favorite character of all animes/games/etc I have came across is Lelouch, and I went all emoemo he died (...ok, maybe not.) but. I think it was a REALLY good ending.
It solved all things that were neccessary (saving like, CC's name), at least for me. And personally, I like open endings when they're well made: they answer all things that CAN'T be left unsolved but still leave place for the viewers to think about it.
Another thing was that, yes, Lelouch never changed since the beginning and I'm overly happy about that. <3 I think his ending was perfectly in-character. Even though I lovelovelove him, I think I wouldn't like the ending this much if he stayed alive. It would be... I don't know, depending on how it was made, it would destroy all things that were build through the series, I think? D:
I must admit that I was VERY scared of this series ending up bad, since some things on the last episodes were very rushed, aand that would break my heart since Geass became my favorite anime. SO GLAD it didn't came true.
tl;dr: CG is my favorite anime and I'm very happy to see it ending like this. Lelouch is my favorite character too and I'm even more happy to see a good, in-character, etc etc ending for him.

...Oh lol. Big post is big. ALL HAIL LELOUCH.

I went emo.

I think he should stay dead, but right now, I'm still in denial. There's a sob in my throat that hasn't come out yet. For me, it was like watching myself all throughout the series. His manipulative side made me giggle, because he found it amusing when he played around a little just like I do. The fact that he couldn't run to save his life, and is a stick. That's me.
Lulu? My nickname. My birthday? Two days before his.

Oh, and he has the most beautiful purple eyes. And I supported him the moment he came on that screen and into my heart. *is shot*
His agony in never telling anyone anything, having to kill his emotions for the sake of others. Happy as he's dying even though the world will always see him as a monster.

OH HAIRU RURUSHU.

You're my favorite character of all time. And um, my twin. And lover. And...I'm still crying.

Yep, there went a tear.

Dammit.

...Whoa, two days before his birthday? And I was already happy I was a Sagittarian like him, lol. XD;

A-Anyway.
Me too me too! When I searched about Geass, the first thing I noticed was Lelouch, and I think I already was a fan of his even before watching the first episode decently? xD And my love for him just kept growing as the series continued.

God, you said everything I wanted to say <3<3 For me, he should stay dead for the sake of a good ending like this, but since he's my favorite character, I want him alive too...
...Did that make sense? xD;

ALL HAIL LELOUCH.

Yep. And my nickname is Lulu. It's..somewhat creepy.
BUT I AM HONORED. *TEARS*

Same here. I remember thinking, "OHSHIT HE'S BEAUTIFUL".

...I agree. But..that doesn't make it hurt any less.
I just wish everyone besides Nunnally, Suzaku, C.C., and Kallen knew the truth. I choked when they called him a Demon King.

Oh, um, ttlly dig your icons btw. :3

YOU SHOULD BE DDDD: *tears*

Eeexactly. I was expecting it would happen since the second episode of S1, and I still couldn't help but act like it was a surprise. Dx W-Why so painful Sunrise.
And calling him the Demon King killed me even more.

Wee, thank yoou~

I am.
This Lulu is a proud Lulu. ;__;

M-me too..
Oh God. I am trying to write a fic to put up, but the music that will make the tears come back is Continued Story. And..I don't think I'm ready for it. I just had my last cry like, an hour ago. I'm a nerd, I know.

No problem. I heart them mucho.

T____T exactly!

i was thinking along the same line after watching the last ep. That's why CG is so awesome...

You summed it up beautifully. and got me back to mourning mode

but like many have said in this comm: "Lulu continues to fight!"

I think that one of the best things Geass has is a main character that actually changesa lot. The choice that Lelouch made confronting his parents is what lead him to face the faith he has built for himself no matter what. Before that, he has been a coward and pretty much an asshole to everyone but Nunnaly, but what he realize in front of his father is what makes him find his answer.
