Some follow up questions.

I know, I know. More discussion posts. But I have several questions that I'd like to see theories/answers for.




1. Did all of the Black Knights finally acknowledge Lelouch's true intentions? Or is it just Kallen? Because the only thing that would make me completely satisfied with the ending is that they recognize what Lelouch did.

2. Suzaku is forever to be Zero, right? However, what happens once he becomes old? Even super-powered plot-haxing characters grow old, too. He'd have to pass down the helmet to someone else, which may or may not involve revealing himself to the potential heir. Unless he's planning on taking the Zero name to his grave, but it's a symbol. I was thinking that the people would like to keep the legend alive.

3. In this scene you can clearly see Lelouch's face. I was wondering if the people at the TV station could have seen Lelouch and Suzaku's exchange on top of the throne. Even if they couldn't lip-read, they probably could have seen Lelouch put his hand on the Zero Mask for a significant amount of time. There's also the possibility of nosy cameramen focusing on Nunnally and Lelouch, but I guess that can be discounted because baaaaaw Diethard.

I was thinking that there may be people who would study and analyze the assassination very closely. This is mostly wishful thinking on my part though.

4. Where would they bury Lelouch's body (assuming that you believe that he is dead)? I know Jeremiah, Suzaku, Kallen, and especially Nunnally would stop the people from tearing his corpse apart. Maybe with the rest of the royal family? Next to Clovis.

5. I hope no one disturbs Rolo's impromptu grave. ;___;

6. It seems like the world would eventually be ruled by children. You know, what with Kaguya, Nunnally, and Tianzi. New world order includes Loli Leaders.

7. Did anyone else think Schneizel looked adorably confused in this shot?

2. I like to think of the Zero symbol as a sort of Dread Pirate Roberts dealie. I'd hope that when it comes time for Suzaku to pass on the shiny black helmet, he'll have found someone worthy to know the truth and take on the role.

On a similar note, so what happens when Suzaku gets really really really old? He wasn't Geassed to not age, he was just Geassed to live. O.o;;

Oooh. I haven't considered that before. I know he can't willingly kill himself in any situation, but he might take the Shirley way out. As he's dying he'd acknowledge that he has lived his life as much as he could.

That or he'd be on his death bed going, "LIVE... I MUST LIVE."

3. I was wondering about that too. My thought was that there would be some guy who takes the footage and spends days trying figure out what they're saying. Then there'd be some sort of controversy on Emperor Lelouch's relationship with 'Zero'. It... made sense in my head at the time.

I'm just sad that Schneizel ended like that. It just seems too sad. He was awesome and he suddenly wasn't. I would have liked for him to die rather than be geassed.

3. Oh god, I'd love to read a fic about the controversy about Lelouch regarding the footage. Especially since technology lets them have giant flying robots, I figured that they'd have good enough equipment to zoom in to lip-read Lelouch. And don't worry, it made sense in my head, too.

1. I hope so, but I assume some of them were probably too stupid or didn't care. And perhaps, Kallen and Suzaku decided that it wouldn't be a good idea to tell them. If they figure it out on their own, then good, but telling them is like ruining some of Lelouch's secret, in a way, which was part of the point, I think.

2. I didn't think of him passing it down, only because I don't know that he or Lelouch would think that someone else would be worthy of that level of trust or burden, symbol or not. However, I wouldn't be surprised if Lelouch somehow left something that would help Suzaku set up the resources and the plans needed for the possibility of future Zero interventions if the time needed it, something along the lines of Schenberg's plan in Gundam 00.

But some Batman Beyond (edit wtf typo I can't fucking type tonight) sort of shit with the Zero thing would be kind of cool, too. Sort of want older Suzaku with some stupid kid.

3. I assume that conspiracy theorists in the Geass universe had a goddamn field day with this assassination.

6. Anime and videogames have taught me that children rule the world better than adults. ...actually, sci-fi novels have too.

7. Even through the Geass, he might remember that Lelouch is Zero. So, yeah, probably terribly confused, the poor dear.

It really is a sad fate, isn't it? He's cursed to obey another's will, the complete opposite of his personality. He used to be so proud and now he's reduced to a follower. Quietly killing him probably was the better idea than leaving him alone like that.

If Jeremiah accidentally de-geasses him at some point, there would be hell to pay.

1. I suppose it would ruin Lelouch's secret if all of them realized. I hope at least Ougi, Tamaki, Toudou, and some of the other major players figured it out on their own.

2. Older Suzaku with a stupid kid would be hilarious! A Batman Beyond-esque transition with the Zero legacy might be kind of awesome if someone (whether it be a fic writer or a strange OVA) does it correctly.

3. I'd love to see some of the theories they'd come up with. Seriously.

2 - It isn't said anywhere and well, I'm betting the people themselves don't think Zero is going to live on forever and ever. He's since as a hero, but I doubt they expect him to forever take care of the world. I was more under the impression that with the younger ones the world would grow on to become more peaceful and able to handle itself better not under the driect thumb of Britannia and its royals. Or maybe zero would become one of those legend type things that lives on through history, even after Suzuku eventually died, but I can't really imagine him telling anyone about his reality, that's what was so sad about his fate.

3 - The hand holding mask thing could have been taken as just Lelouch throwing his hands out in death throe. I mean, after being stabbed in the chest I doubt your body's much under your own control anymore, and it'd be seen as him just grabbing onto the nearest steady object, as in Zero/Suzuku. The lip reading is a totally different topic, assuming they caught that, and yeah, with all the cameras there, they would - that can only really be explained as - it's geass.

2. I don't know how, but I think Suzaku will die young. He's been using THE CURSE OF GEASS as a tool to help him in battle as well as the Zero Requiem, but I believe he has the potential to break Geass with his will. There was a big discussion on this before, about how no one has been able to fully break Lelouch's Geass, but, you know. Speculations! Either way, Zero is like a legacy. He'll live on, but not everyone can be Zero-- so maybe Suzaku will find some heir to the throne.

3. You'd imagine they would. They probably won't.

4. Oh my goodness, I'm sorry that all my thoughts are so heavily influenced by HOMOLUST. Anyway, I imagine after the mob of people go to cheer on Zero they'll try to beat up Lelouch's corpse or something. After all, he's the symbol of hatred. But then Zerozaku and his fabulous pink sword stops him. I hope he is either a) buried next to Suzaku's grave or b) gets an unmarked memorial, like Rolo.

2. True, very true. The world isn't naive enough to believe that Zero will live forever. Perhaps Suzaku will die quietly as Zero and they'll respect him enough to keep the mask on. Though this is making me think of new and incredibly fake Zero's popping up from time to time trying to imitate him for justice.

3. Yeah, I shouldn't think so much about it, but you'd think there would be some eccentric person in the world who's awfully curious about this Emperor Lelouch fiasco and how poetic his death was.

4. I'm pretty sure Jeremiah would have had his body quickly taken away before the rioting crowds could get their hands on him. I think it'll be a nameless grave, but it'll probably have a beautiful grave marker.

7. He's so torn between Lelouch-is-Zero and this-guy-is-dressed-as-Zero. Which in turn makes me think of random people dressing as Zero and forcing Schneizel to do their bidding. Huh.

2. What kind of situation would force him to break the Geass with his will? He's already given into his "punishment" to live as Zero for perhaps eternity. I don't think he'd break it in order to kill himself (seeing as the order is to "live"). And he's going to have a jolly ol' time trying to find someone trustworthy enough to take up that role.

3. I don't know. There's always someone eccentric enough to do things like that. And then they'll post it on the World Wide Web (or the Geass world equivalent) and people will discuss conspiracy theories forever. Or at least that's what I think might happen.

4. I LIKE HOMOLUST, DON'T WORRY. Zerozaku would definitely stop them from doing anything drastic. That's an awesome image of him holding the crowd back with his pink sword.

If he's buried next to Suzaku's grave, they're both going to be desecrated really badly. I think the others would be more subtle about that.

2 - It's kind of my hope it would happen that way. He'd help out but then drift further and further away and eventually die one day. I never thought about the mask thing, but I guess if he lived with it his whole life, the people would respect that, hopefully at the end too. I could just imagine him being turned into a legend and old people would speak of Zero and his work, only for new miracles to happen and people say they saw Zero. And I'm sure there would be fake Zero's, but not for a while and it'd all be known it wasn't the real one.

3 - I guess, at least for a while, they'd just be glad to have rid of the eccentric emperor and his tryanical ways. Not to mention, the awe of Zero rising up from nowhere. But after that I think people would re-play, if just for their own fascination or writing of history.

I still want to know how Nunnally got that vision of the truth at the end there. Did I miss something that explained her sudden future vision?
