Paul dies in Children of Dune. Alia has replaced him as Empress and he is thought dead, but he turns up incognito in Arrakeen, denounces Alia and the Jihad, and is stabbed by an enraged priest of the Imperial Cult. Then Alia jumps out the window and the two bodies lie next to each other for quite a while until Leto gets around to having them taken away.
OH OF COURSE. Nunnally is too sweet and even she knows that when she's being evil her heart isn't really in it. Alia is just a fucking badass!bitch!queen and we love her for it.
