As expected he lacks Rolo cuteness for the most part. But I suppose I shouldn't judge on the first episode. I expect Spike to get better as he gets more into the role.

Over all in the dub, comparing it to the Japanese, Lelouch really sounds like he couldn't give less of a fuck about Rolo lmao. And Rolo's interjections sound really choppy and unnatural. I now appreciate Mizushima's abitlity to just sliiiiiiide right into the conversation.

AND WHY DOES HE CALL HIM LELOUCH MORE THAN BROTHER? ;_____________;

And they took out the "That's right, we're..."

AND OH MY GOD HE SCREAMED "LELOUCH" AS HE FELL. MY LIFE IS OVER. And it most definately did not make my insides twist as I tasted his despair.

Hearing "Lelouch" more than "brother" felt so wrong. I'm hoping they'll change that in later episodes, though I doubt it. But I actually think Rolo's dub voice fits him pretty well.

The lack of 'brother' is just one of those things that has to get thrown out in translation- you don't usually address your sibling as 'brother' or 'sister' in English, so you either stick to the script and have it sound weird to people who aren't familiar with it or change it and make it sound wrong to the people who watched the original.

Honorifics are a similarly weird thing to deal with in translations.

....Hmm. I wish they had kept "brother" a little more often, though it's pretty much inevitable to remove it at times. I was fairly happy with the balance between "brother" and "Lelouch". Had they removed "brother" completely.... that would be a different story.

I'm actually quite happy with Spike's voice, though it needs just a touch more cuteness.

The two things that upset me the most.... the spelling of "brittania" in the video description and "SHING KAY".

While we're on the dub, did anyone see last week's? They totally cut out everything after the standoff. C.C.'s monologue was one of the best parts of the season 1 finale, and they just didn't even air it. :/

Watching dubbed versions after watching the original is so weird... I just can't watch Fruits Basket after hearing the opening dubbed, it felt so... not Fruits Basket XD.

I don't mind rolo's voice. I had a big fucking problem with bosch voicing lelouch, but I eventually got used to it. spike can at least pull off "innocent" not so much "cute" however.
