As expected he lacks Rolo cuteness for the most part. But I suppose I shouldn't judge on the first episode. I expect Spike to get better as he gets more into the role.

Over all in the dub, comparing it to the Japanese, Lelouch really sounds like he couldn't give less of a fuck about Rolo lmao. And Rolo's interjections sound really choppy and unnatural. I now appreciate Mizushima's abitlity to just sliiiiiiide right into the conversation.

AND OH MY GOD HE SCREAMED "LELOUCH" AS HE FELL. MY LIFE IS OVER. And it most definately did not make my insides twist as I tasted his despair.

The lack of 'brother' is just one of those things that has to get thrown out in translation- you don't usually address your sibling as 'brother' or 'sister' in English, so you either stick to the script and have it sound weird to people who aren't familiar with it or change it and make it sound wrong to the people who watched the original.

Honorifics are a similarly weird thing to deal with in translations.
