Just randomly thinking...  Shirley accuses Milly of being a perv, but most of her on panel scenes of yuri-ness seem focused on Shirley. Milly is also oblivious to Rivalz interest, nor does she take seriously her engagement to Lloyd.

YES, she tries very hard to set up Shirley and Lulu, but that could be a case of ;I want my beloved to be happy.' She may realize she can't get Shirley, so she decides to do what she can to make Shirley happy.

Thoughts?

According to official material, Milly too likes Lelouch so... And I'd say she would have felt much more broken after Shirley's death had she been in love with her, as strong as Milly might be.

I'd say this is all purely fan speculation.

According to Wikipedia, Milly enjoyed teasing Shirley as a close friend, and I'm also sure she was brokenhearted after Shirley's death. She was in love with Lelouch, yes, and was only engaged to Lloyd who was a noble to restore her family's status.

If we're talking about actual official material, Nina, on the other hand...>__>;

Wait, when was it made official? It was kind-of-sort-of implied in the show but I thought it was far too vague to draw a conclusion.
Then again, I found out after the show was over that Kallen/Lelouch was the official pairing of the show, and looking back at all the overt C.C./Lelouch I couldn't help but ask, "...Really?! Um, I guess, whatever you say, Geass Writers." So they kind of have a bad track record making their pairings clear IMO.

I always thought she had a little crush on her, at the very least. But not as much as her crush on Lelouch, and not enough that she would get between them.

Possibly. I was under the impression that Milly might be bisexual but she seems to be more having fun than be actually pursuing a love interest.
Date/Time: 2010-03-01 07:35 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] brokensocks.livejournal.com
I say not. Milly was in love with Lelouch and the "yuriness" was for fanservice anyway.

Whaaa, when did that happen?

I know they debunked CC/Kallen, but aside from that I thought they remained pretty mum about any other 'official pairings' for Lelouch.

Milly was in love with lelouch, it could be seen in an episode when she asked every student to take lelouch's heart hat and give it to her. She chose to act like cupid for shirley, but in the end she still was sad when lelouch and shirley exchanged hats, and said that she was actually being serious to get lelouch's hat. (I forgot what she actually said but it was clearly stated like that).

People need to stop confusing fanservice and actual plot. A promo scan doesn't make the script (unlike you are working under Mr Fukuda). Milly was canonically in love with Lelouch (myself, I never found out about that before the actual official releases)and as for the rest, it's a case of death of the author, I guess. If you don't care about what he says, good for you. Who cares ?
Date/Time: 2010-03-01 08:32 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] clichymiss.livejournal.com
They debunked CC. Not Kallen.
And sure, they didn't say outloud which was the official pairing, but one was sunk and the other was given a fair ammount of ++++. So one can say they pretty much said it.
But lol, people ship whatever they ship. If people are happy/dicontent with that, it's their problem.

I can't remember it exactly, but I recall Lelouch/Kallen being declared official. It may have been when Taniguchi was explaining about the final scene between Kallen and Lelouch with the "goodbye," he made it very clear that Kallen had decided that she loves Lelouch and not just because he was Zero...although I remember it being specifically spelled out that it was the official pairing, so maybe it was a different time. Frankly I don't care much for Lelouch/Kallen, so I don't think I'm biased. I just want to respectfully acknowledge the author's intent before I go shipping whatever I want anyway.

Alright forgive me for being dense, but I can't tell if you're doing a "general you" bit or whether you're talking to me in particular. For most of your comment actually.

If you're talking to me, I'm not confusing fanservice with the plot, nor am I going off of promo scans. C.C. and Lelouch have a close relationship, kiss, have numerous tender moments together, etc. in canon. Kallen basically hates Lelouch for all of R1 because he made an observation - not a judgment, an objective observation - about the interaction between Brittanians and the Japanese, then she falls on top of him and they have a weird awkward moment. I'm not trying to bash Kallen/Lelouch or put C.C./Lelouch on a pedestal; I don't really care about what people do or don't ship. I'm trying to illustrate that the show didn't communicate with the audience about Lelouch's relationships, and then essentially made Kallen/Lelouch canon by saying so after the show was over.

Milly was canonically in love with Lelouch (myself, I never found out about that before the actual official releases)
I was asking because I didn't know it was official. I have no idea when/where that was said or who was it said by. I thought it was kind-of-sort-of implied in the episodes around her graduation, but the whole thing was so vague that it wasn't necessarily so.

If you don't care about what he says, good for you. Who cares ?
Um, okay? I was just asking when it was made official. I don't take shipping that seriously.
Date/Time: 2010-03-01 09:19 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] megalomaniageek.livejournal.com
Was it clear? I thought she said something like, "I expected as much." I found the whole thing kind of vague and was asking myself afterward, "Wait, does Milly love Lelouch or something?" It seemed like she could've had any number of motives; I read those episodes about Milly's character development as her deciding to cast off her family's restrictive rules and go live the life she wants to live.
Date/Time: 2010-03-01 09:59 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] nherizu.livejournal.com
Yeah, she said that she has expected it in front of the others, but if I'm not wrong after that she kinds of mumble to herself about what she felt. Though I think she was not being serious to her feeling towards lelouch since she seemed to have given up from the beginning. I need to re-watch the episode though to be sure, but that's what I remember from the episode.

Wait, if they debunked CC/Kallen, what's up with all of the covers of Code Geass: Queen?
Date/Time: 2010-03-01 11:14 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] sabonasi.livejournal.com
I took Milly as bi, too. Well, maybe bi/questioning...and having a Hell of a good time trying to figure herself out. ;-)
Date/Time: 2010-03-01 12:06 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] spleener.livejournal.com
Seriously in love with her? No.

Would fuck her given the right conditions (ie LOTS OF BOOZE)? Absolutely.
Date/Time: 2010-03-01 12:15 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] spleener.livejournal.com
Yeah. She liked teasing/groping hot girls and would probably go so far as fucking one in the right conditions (ie being really fucking drunk,) but she's probably not the sort who would get into a serious relationship with one.
Date/Time: 2010-03-01 12:16 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] corsette.livejournal.com
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the official guide (or so I've heard people call it) have a "love chart" in it? I'm pretty sure the one going towards Lelouch to Kallen is a question mark ("?"). Pretty much all of Lelouch's were question marks, actually-- except from the obvious ones. (Euphy and Nunnally, I think?) The one going from Kallen to Lelouch is a heart (showing love), though. Maybe they meant Kallen defintely loves Lelouch? I dunno. If someone involved in the writing of Geass said they were canon, there would have been a huge fandom explosion. The Geass fans are pretty on their pairings after all.

Sorry for adding to the flood, but without the wank, I don't believe it, man.
Date/Time: 2010-03-01 12:24 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] spleener.livejournal.com
Yeah, if they're not going to do it in canon they're sure as fuck not going to confirm a Lelouch pairing in supplemental material.

I almost agreed and then I remembered it's Code Geass
and now I can't agree because it's Code Geass, damn it

I'm sorry if I sounded offensive. I guess it was the case since you sound offended. It wasn't really against you (and not you in particular at all) more of a general boredom when this question is discussed. Sorry if you took it personally, it wasn't my goal.

For the Lelouch/C.C. relationship, it always sounded really platonic-like for me, especially when you know the kisses were a matter of saving/restoring memories. I wasn't surprised by the staff releases, when it comes to each of these couples, cause it came out absolutely like I understood it. Kallen/Lelouch was more like the romance of the thing, and unlike you, the devellopment was obvious to me, and Lelouch/C.C. was the platonic stuff, with no real attraction between them.
I guess it's only a matter of point of view, but I saw so many people shitting over this particular subject that well, it's a rarity to see someone with geniune curiosity.

So again, I'm sorry if I offended you.
About the Milly thing, I think only the graduation episode really gave the hint, so it's not a surprise most people missed that. Now thinking that she was crushing on Shirley seems kinda far fetched but well. It's CG.
Date/Time: 2010-03-01 12:44 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] clichymiss.livejournal.com
Let's say, it's not only about the love chart. It wasn't the only stuff talking about pairings post serie :)
Date/Time: 2010-03-01 12:47 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] anaakin.livejournal.com
Well to each it's own. For me it was dead obvious Kallen/Lelouch was canon.
/A Kallen/Lelouch shipper ? Where ?!
Date/Time: 2010-03-01 12:59 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] apapazukamori.livejournal.com
Author intent is worth acknowledging, even if you ship something else. However, it would be really helpful if you were to link to an interview instead of just relying on memory. I could easily say I thought Lelouch/Cheese-kun was official and remember Taniguchi saying it, but it's still only speculation unless I can point to where he said it.
