I'll admit that contact is the easiest solution aka no plot twist from C.C. or Rollo or someone else who can make the GEASS magically disappear XD Only one thing though, isn't the contact SEE-THROUGH?

So are Mao's shades. The point is the property of the lens (i.e. reflecting and refracting light) rather than whether they're see-through or opaque.

Woah, never thought of that. I used to think that because Mao's shades are, you know, shades, then they have the all-powerful-let's-block-the-geass ability. And since I wear contacts myself, it's just hard to believe that those things can block a mind-raping weapon.

But maybe that's just the balance of things there XD

Ok I fail. What difference did Mao's shades make, besides other people not noticing the Geass on his eyes?

I think contacts blocking the Geass is 'half' passable, but they still don't make complete sense to me. Reflecting, refracting, either way light gets transmitted some how. But then I don't completely understand he mechanics of Geass, is it light coming from in the eye or something? *brain explode* I need to re-watch Stage 3 or something >_>

It's a mystical, magical thing. It takes direct eye contact for the geass to work. Anything in the way makes it un-work.

I don't think it's a matter of messing with the light, but if you wanted to argue that, then yes a lens would significantly disperse the light moving outward from the eye. Because the point of a lens is to take a massive amount of light and focus it small for your eye, opposite would take the focused light and throw it everywhere. Rightright?
