I have a question about Rollo.

You know how Lelouch's geass only works on a single person once. That severely limits his opportunities and options, especially if he comes across a situation where he already used it on someone. We don't know much about the Emperor's geass except that it can rearrange memories, so I was wondering if Rollo's geass has some price to pay.

He can temporarily stop time (the length he cannot control), but I feel that his geass alone is... still incredibly advantageous. Mao's geass went out of control and drove him crazy because he couldn't turn it off. I dunno, you'd think Rollo's would have some drawback to it. Right now it just doesn't feel fair. Not that it should be, but...

I guess he might be eternally stuck within a moment in time if it gets to that. Or maybe the time he freezes becomes increasingly shorter the more he uses it.

Waiting for weekly episodes is hard. *facepalm*

A capable system of underlings (including his children) could hide a lot. And Rollo should be listening to his superiors--there's efficiency, yes, but how efficient is a government if someone kills all the enforcers? Villetta does indicate a large body count they've had to hide, and I think this crosses line from efficiency to paranoia.

But then again, one of my pet theories is that Charles is grooming Lelouch to be his successor, so don't take me too seriously.

My take on the Lelouch as emperor thing is pretty much thus:

I think Charles liked the fact that the kid had balls enough to stand up to him at such an early age, and went about seeing if Lelouch was ruthless enough to be the next leader. Charles believes in survival of the fittest, so he's not going to give up his throne to someone who doesn't fit his ideal. Therefore, we have the situation with the death of Marianne, and Lelouch's subsequent exile. Once it was revealed that Lelouch was alive (I think the Emperor's spy network could've handled at least that much, right? A person with daddy's eyes, and a blind girl in a wheelchair shows up, matching the tales of Lelouch and Nunnally from years ago, and no one notices? Come on now.), Charles watched him to see what he would do. Leading a rebellion gets the emperor stamp of approval--it's what daddy always wanted for his children. And his other children are being set up to die if they're too weak to face Lelouch--starting with Clovis. Getting caught, though, was a bad idea. But seriously--all Lelouch gets is a little memory-modding and sent back to school? Seriously? If I were Charles, I'd've set the leader of the rebellion up for a televised execution by my most trusted bodyguards as an example for what happens when someone dares resist absolute authority. It's another test. And Charles is holding Nunnally as bait, in a sense--Lelouch would kill for Nunnally (but not for many other people), and he's trying to engineer that Lelouch would have reason to off his siblings. ::shrugs:: That wasn't laid out properly, but the gist is there.

That's pretty much my theory too. Lelouch has the most leadership and will to bein charge than any of his siblings, Cornelia and Schneizel seem to wear authority as it is their duty, yet do not seek to be authoritive on their own. You see glimpses of them falling back on their underlings, although Schneizel does seem to have it best next to Lelouch.

I'm pretty sure Marianne is in on it, and to some extent C.c., as she talks to Marianne and I'm sure V.v. as well. Sunrise tells us the people she talks to are more than one, and we know V.v. was on the island spying on everyone when she was asking where Lelouch is.
