I have a question about Rollo.

You know how Lelouch's geass only works on a single person once. That severely limits his opportunities and options, especially if he comes across a situation where he already used it on someone. We don't know much about the Emperor's geass except that it can rearrange memories, so I was wondering if Rollo's geass has some price to pay.

He can temporarily stop time (the length he cannot control), but I feel that his geass alone is... still incredibly advantageous. Mao's geass went out of control and drove him crazy because he couldn't turn it off. I dunno, you'd think Rollo's would have some drawback to it. Right now it just doesn't feel fair. Not that it should be, but...

I guess he might be eternally stuck within a moment in time if it gets to that. Or maybe the time he freezes becomes increasingly shorter the more he uses it.

Waiting for weekly episodes is hard. *facepalm*

I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but consider that C.C. is the one who gave Geass to Lelouch and Mao. This, on the one hand, means we know a lot about their Geass and limitations, but I also think it may be a reflection of how powerful C.C. is. The fact that someone else (I'm guessing V.V., but there could of course be some plot twist ahead that I can't foresee) gave the Emperor and Rollo Geass might mean that theirs isn't subject to limitations (making it totally unfair). Similarly, it hasn't been shown that there's a limitation to the Emperor's Geass either, but that could just be because Charles doesn't want to look weak. It is an interesting thought to ponder, though.

Well... to clear things up, he doesn't exactly STOP time, if you watched episode 3 carefully, when he uses his geass in the underground water ravine (let's just call it that...)the water is still moving behind Viletta. It's more like he stops the perception of time of the people he uses the Geass on.

There probably is a consequence to his geass, or some limitations, we probably won't learn about it until later on - like Lelouch's. I feel it might have something to do with why he's paranoid about the locket, maybe time stops for him for a certain length of time while everything else moves forward, causing him to lose everything, which may be why he prizes his only possession dearly (locket).

My other theory is he's some crazy android/clone/test tube baby, so that's why he wants some family values!

Just my crazy two cents xD;

His Wiki entry says that he has a certain range.. I'm not sure how right they are though..

Given the way he's used it, I'm guessing it has a cooldown period, and that the period of paralysis is fairly short (probably around 15 seconds). He also has a limited range, so he's going to be susceptible to snipers and the like.

I wonder, if his geass mutated, if he'd just disappear...

like he'd be in a frozen time and no one would notice him

I was thinking about this today! and I do think he has to pay a price and I think that might just be his own time! ;) I think rollo can't age lmao it could be why he thinks so highly of birthdays.

what I think:

- his geass "stops" people within a specific range
- can be used an unlimited amount of times on anyone
- has a time limit; im guessing about 5 seconds
- has a cooldown period, probably at least 5 minutes
(note, if he didn't have either of the above two, stopping Lulu's plan to destroy the building would've been far too easy)

he's used it at least 5 times so far: 3 times during the battle in the building, one to kill that person in the underground parts of school, and one on Lulu. 5 times in 3 episodes alone. I wouldn't doubt his Geass will mutate very soon. I could only guess that it'll have lots of consequences after that.
