Hey guys, let's get some good discussion going here!

I especially want to hear everyone's thoughts on the way Lelouch manipulated Rolo (oh, and I guess that is the official spelling now). Is it not what the majority of us predicted?

I think I hate Lelouch.

Ok, I don't *hate* him, but meh.. ¬¬

and I miss Suzaku *sigh*

I miss him, too ;___;

Truthfully, I do feel sorry for Rolo...but not that much.

Lulu is manipulative, but I feel that his means justify the ends. Yeah, it sucks, and it may be wrong to say that, but casualties (both physical and mental) are going to happen.

I'm more curious towards the Ohgi and Villetta pairing. We know about how she feels (as revealed in these past episodes) but how does he feel about her?

So many unanswered questions: LIKE SUZAKU?!?! WTF? You leave me hanging so much, Sunrise.

haha, hi! I'm curious about Ohgi/Villetta too. will you be at DAC wed/thurs?

No one has mentioned Viletta's response to Ougi almost dying. At first she seems really pensive about it, and then when they're freed she looks relieved, but before anyone sees her she changes really quickly back to being miss hardass. Me thinks there's emotions there for Ougi she doesn't want to admit. ;)

As for Lulu's manipulation of Rolo, it's exactly as I figured it would be. Rolo is just Lelouch's pawn until he decides to get rid of him.

actually it was pretty obvious after she's telling "C.C. is our objective". I think she intentionally said it to ensure others members could safely escape.

I felt bad for Rollo. Poor kid getting manipulated by Lelouch. From what they show of his past, it seems like he never had anyone show kindness to him at all, and he was treated like a killing machine, not a human. So, I guess in his year as Lelouch's "brother" he has learned what it's like to receive kindness and love even if it was all a just a lie. He has been truly happy. For Rollo, getting that locket as a birthday present was something very meaningful and precious to him. No wonder he does not let anyone touch it.

It also seems because of his time with Lelouch he is starting to have second thoughts about killing him cause if he really did want to kill him he would have done so when he used his time freeze geass on Lelouch.

I wonder what is going to happen when Rollo finds out that Lelouch was lying to him the whole time cause I bet it's not going to be pretty.

I also think that the Chinese Fedarations is going to be a problem for the Black Knights in the future because it seems like they have their own hidden agenda.

Looking forward to episode 5.

But, agh, Lelouch made me so angrrryyyy just then. DDDD=!

Why does Lelouch have to be so hot at any point in time? Makes him impossible to dislike. Srsly. D=

this episode makes me thinking, who's the real villain now? lol!
I feel poor to Rolo, his reluctance made him easily manipulated by LeLouch. But this development couldn't make me to think LeLouch's plan most likely to fail, because Rolo will find out sooner or later, he's just pawn.
Date/Time: 2008-04-28 04:23 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] fox-holland.livejournal.com
Well he's always been a pawn, I don't think he'll act out just because he was being used again.

If this episode didn't make you almost tear up at the Rolo part, then you HAVE NO SOUL. *_*

Oh, God...if last episode didn't make Rolo my favorite character, then this episode firmly cemented it. Poor kid...all he wants is a family!

I totally saw Lulu's manipulation of him coming. By like, a MILE. But still...ugh, it almost made me cry knowing he was saying all those things to Rolo and in the end was just using him. Ugh, you awful manipulative bastard, Lulu. </3 While Lelouch is still pissed about Rolo taking Nunnally's place now, I kind of hope he'll eventually form a brotherly bond with him sometime. And like, save his life with no hidden motives sometime, or something. Because, it's too cruel to have it turn into another "Suzakuuu!" "Lelouuuch!" fiasco. And that kid just needs some love! <3

The trap was so easy to see. Poor little Rolo, I had hope for him when we left off in episode 3, but there isn't much to hope for now. The second he isn't useful any more, he's gone. But that will be a while, Lulu will get used to having such a versatile pawn, so it will be much later. Though I do hope that he doesn't end up dieing, I can definitly see it happening.

And Lelouch forming a sort of bond with him? I can't see it happening. Lelouch is merciless to those that are in his way. If he is the one to take care of Rolo, he'll no doubt crush the poor kids dreams and illusions before killing him. Theres no doubt about that in my mind. Either that or make it look like he didn't cause the event at all. Either way, Rolo will find out.

Despite the obvious Lulu bashing going around, I don't know how anyone could have expected him to do things differently. Rolo's godmod geass had to be tamed some how, it was obvious that his waving emotional state was going to come into play. And you can't deny that the last scene and quote where absolutely AMAZING.

My only conclusion: Lelouch is on his smooth way to be his father.

And yay Suzaku is back at Ashford!

I'm happy that we got a tiny glimpse into Rollo's past.
That's he not even a prince or of royalty.
Also, it's better to know that Rollo wasn't being raised or exclusively directed by the Emperor as I had anticipated, considering that if there are no other Geass related beings out there than C.C. and V.V., that his Geass was a cause of his relationship with V.V. and V.V. with the Emperor.
I thought it would be more difficult for him to betray Britannia if that were true.

Still I wonder if V.V. just goes about randomly talking about and handing out Geass's, does he?

It was practically the only way Lelouch can continue with his life, or else Rolo would have a)killed Lelouch, end of Code Geass or b)tell the agency and get Nunnally into trouble.

Now what Lulu just did has all these results:
a) Lulu is alive. Code Geass continues.
b) Nunnally is safe.
c) Rolo and his geass is now on Lulu's side. Kuro no Kishidan gets Vincent. Rolo can act as a spy for the secret agency. The secret agency is no match for Rolo.
d) Rolo gets a new future, a brother and a chance to learn some love for the first time since his pathetic life as a heartless assassin.

The results aren't bad at all, they're perfect to be exact. But the means (yeah, manipulating) weren't very nice --OK, Evil-- , and not only Suzaku would detest it. I doubt any other mean would have been able to get this result though. This is all pure Lulu.

It'll all work out beautifully if Lulu comes to truly love Rolo as a brother. And I really really really hope that happens.

You forgot Rolo gets to share pizza with CC, now.

Which was kinda all I thought about when Lulu was all, 'you belong here.' Rolo chillin' with the black knights, catchin' Kallen half-naked, draining Lulu's credit card for pizza... I do hope he gets to spend that kind of time with them. It'd be funny just 'cause.

ASASDASF ASHFORD EPISODE NEXT WEEK 8DDD yesss.
Date/Time: 2008-04-28 10:12 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] alexq.livejournal.com
it was pretty predictable that Lulu would "protect" rolo as well as play the brother card to sway him; that said, it was still awesome. :DD it would be nice if Lulu actually decides to accept rolo, but honestly, rolo is a murderer without a conscious (conspiring with people who kidnapped nunally), so if Lulu doesn't want to forgive him, well, sucks for him....

I have a feeling that Rolo will eventually go bat-shit insane.

You coming this week? I haven't seen you in ages.
Date/Time: 2008-04-28 11:22 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] miribai.livejournal.com
I have and always will believe that Lelouche is an absolute good, while Britania is an absolute evil, and suzaku is an absolute dick. This episode changes nothing of that perception and is just standard issue Code Geass fair. I did give pause when he took the bullet for rolo, then sat back down when I realize he organized the whole damned thing.

I believe lelouche is justified in his actions against rolo. I don't see any bonding for them. And rolo will crack and go batshit insane just when it is the least advantageous for lelouche. End of story, this is an anime after all and anime has rules.

More than anything of that episode, it broke my heart to see guilford in pain over his lost princess, and the tension between ohgi and villeta. I oh shit'd when Suzaku came back. I'm just upset Arthur isn't around to bite him every 4 seconds.

Date/Time: 2008-04-28 13:54 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] the-quantum-cat.livejournal.com
This episode confirmed what I've known since the second episode of the first season: Lelouch is evil, and there is little redeemable in him. He's just a power-hungry, sadistic tyrant.

I fear for Nunnally if and when she is enlightened to her brothers actions. Her rejection of his ideals might be the end of her. And Rolo will end up victimized again.

As for Lelouch, he'll get his, just like Light in Death Note. The only good he'll bring is the chance to take the Emperor (and C.C. &V.V.) with him.

Suzaku will be the hero you're meant to be, ending the Black Knights and Zero. Britannia will end-up changed from the inside afterwards, and be worth the Eleven's loyalty.
Date/Time: 2008-04-28 21:24 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] zalem.livejournal.com
Oh Lelouch's mistakes will come back to haunt him (they always do), but if you're expecting this to be a Death Note ending for Lelouch with Suzaku as the hero standing in the end...well, I'm very skeptical about that.

And I still don't see how Lelouch is evil and unredeemable. Nor has his love for Nunnally lessened. There is no way you can compare Light with Lelouch. Light didn't have a "Nunnally". That is the one factor that makes Lelouch human. And dangerous too. He would *never* hurt her intentionally, not even if she disagreed with his ideals. Of course, he's hurt her plenty unintentionally. That's the irony of everything he does.

I guess I'll be one of the few dissenters and say that I don't think Lelouch's manipulation was such a supreme act of bastardry? He's done worse things to better people. From Lelouch's perspective, Rolo is the main accomplice in his memory loss and in Nunnally being taken away from him. Even taking aside the personal grudge, Rolo isn't an innocent bystander; he's the enemy. I feel sorry for the kid, but Lelouch's actions seemed reasonable enough to me.
Date/Time: 2008-04-28 19:40 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] ethocaine.livejournal.com
I don't think Lelouch was being particularly evil in this episode, although he was being extraordinarily vindictive. :| His course of action was the only choice he had, given that he had to rescue the Black Knights while keeping Nunnally safe and himself alive.

I want to see Lelouch develop some brotherly affection for the poor boy, but I think Suzaku will ruin all that. :(

Oh and the surfing scene was absolutely PRICELESS.
Date/Time: 2008-04-28 19:59 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] kyen.livejournal.com
I totally agree with you about the surfing bit. That was the most awesome fight scene-thing Lulu will ever have in a knightmare.
Date/Time: 2008-04-28 21:15 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] zalem.livejournal.com
I did feel sorry for Rolo, but at the same time I totally understand where Lelouch is coming from.

Nunnally is everything to Lulu and you can bet Lelouch will bring hell upon anyone that's been involved with this whole mind-wipe mess. Rolo is a murderous little impostor who faked being his brother for a year and stole Nunnally's place. Not to mention he was ordered to assassinate Lelouch should his memories return. It's not surprising how pissed off Lulu is. I do hope he changes his mind and learns to like Rolo though. For his sake, cause Rolo is really dangerous and very unstable. If he were to find out Lelouch was lying....well, that would be a really ugly confrontation. But now that I think of it, this is Geass and so there is a 99% chance that it will exactly turn out that way. Things always have a habit of turning around to bite Lelouch on the ass. Alas, manipulating Rolo onto his side was probably the best solution. He couldn't kill Rolo as that would have given everything away...

I loved how Lelouch is using him. I mean, come on? They took a year from him and took his sister. The one he loves and has taken care of his whole life. They put this fake guy, Rolo to be his brother. Then he wakes up? All of this? Who wouldn't be on a huge war path?

I'd do the same thing if it was my mother,(since I don't have anyone else I love as much)I'd not stop until I found out all of what happened and took them all down.

But I do like Rolo. He was used as a tool for killing. That's all he has known. But then he becomes a brother for a year?He has those feelings.

This show is so good. Can't get enough of it. Next one is going to be very fun.

The Munipulation was beautiful...I can't call it anything but. Lulu is badass as always, but even though he really can't fight for shit (his knightmare skills suck) it doesn't matter because he's proving that he can get away with praticly anythinG WITH JUST HIS MIND and NERVE LMAO. the chibi bastard fell right into it lol. so i'm not shocked the chinese ambassodor was geassed, saw it in the second epi. as for the general guy, i'm a little confused as to his intentions, he turned out to be a wild card for me. as for the last scene "WTF IS THE TRAITOR BASTARD BACK FOR!?" whats he going to do waltz up in school and try and kill LuLu? hasn't he done enough back stabbing! bad part is with his geass order still in effect, its gonna be hard as crap to kill him, that one is really gonna come back to bite him in the ass. Awww Poor LuLu. now that the remaining black knights have been saved, I wanna know how todo and his people are gonna react to seeing zero again up close and personal. and will LuLu tell them who he really is.

SO MANY FACTORS!!!

-_- damnit its to late for this..... i'm sleepy now *yawn*

I await LuLu's next big M's (manage, murder and munipulate) its all beautiful ^^

Ja ne!
