Alrighty, new info coming from Newtype March. The translation is credited to Celiss Galeva from GameFAQs. Among the new spoilers is something of great interest, namely Lelouch's future, personal Knightmare Frame - the Gawain

http://img118.imageshack.us/img118/2...pemarchdy3.jpg
The Gawain is on the lower left side...while on the upper right one, is Schneizel's flying fortress, the Avalon - the one we see in the new OP (from where Lancelot takes off with that Aile Pack-spinoff.

Information garnered from Newtype March include the following:
- The Gawain is a two-seater. Who's the copilot? C.C.? Kallen already has her own and Toudou will most likely get that new Guren (Sanshiki?) model.
- This Knightmare Frame can fly.
- It is stolen. ("This mech will not be handed to the likes of Zero", anyone?)
- It uses a powerful Hadron cannon.

All in all, the famous Gundamjack trend seem to have made its way through Code Geass now. Wheeee. Rejoice. Or despair.

And by the way, the Gawain might be what Pubes and Fake Okouchi mentioned about Schneizel having another superior 7th gen. mech in his private army. They were nevertheless right when they said it was an ugly mech for a protagonist - and it will get even more evil as Zero gets familiar with it, or so those two warned. Since they're both (more or less confirmed with the proven spoilers they've provided on 2chan) CG staff members, we can already take that statement as a given. From other things I've seen on GameFAQs, it seems that the Gawain will make its debut somewhere around ep18/19 - or at least, it will be stolen at that moment.

Other tidbit from Newtype March:
- 15th of Feb is confirmed to be a recap episode, Truth of the Mask (ep17.5).
UGH.

Future ep summaries:

"Stage 18: Kururugi Suzaku, I Command Thee

Suzaku enrolled in the Britannian military because he wanted to change from within the Britannian Empire's policy of sacrificing the weak in order to expand their territories.

"Protect the people to the fullest" -- Possessing this strong conviction and a kind heart, he receives the approval of the 3rd Britannian Imperial Princess Euphemia, and advances to the position of her Knight.

News of this is relayed to the citizens as well. At this, Diethard, who is in charge of the Black Knight's intelligences, advises Zero to assassinate Suzaku.

He claims that having Suzaku, a Japanese, publicly serving the Britannian Empire is detrimental to the Black Knights, the JLF, and the Anti-Britannia movement on the whole.

Listening to his words along with Zero, the members of the Black Knights..."

And:

"Stage 19: The Island of God

In the intense fight with Zero, Suzaku is somehow blown away to a deserted island, where he unexpectedly encounters Kallen as well. Without even getting a moment's chance to puzzle over the meeting of a classmate at an unexpected place, he is shocked by the fact that she is a member of the Order of the Black Knights.

Stage 20: The Kyuushuu Campaign

The Deputy Vice-Minister of the old Japanese Government, Zawazaki Koutarou (Not too sure about the reading of the kanjis in the name -- I'll double check later), occupies a portion of the Britannian-governed land "Kyuushuu" and proclaims it as his territory. In order to surpress his actions, the Britannian military storm the base Zawazaki is in, but..."

Enjoy.

You can tell Euphemia is really strong; people have underestimated her because she's not obviously powerful. But she's already demonstrated great will and courage and dedication to the Empire which her family rules several times.

You don't have to have Geass to be strong. She doesn't need 'special powers' to propose effective opposition to Lelouch. He's really not as hot as he thinks he is.

I think there is a possiblity that Empress Marianne is not a sweet smiling lady at all. After all, we've only reeeally seen her through the rose tinted eyes of her children; she could have been a major bitch for all we know. She did marry the Emperor after all! XDDD

At the extreme, Schneizel & Cornelia might have been trying to PROTECT Lelouche's mom against the REAL VILLAINS but failed. Crovius knew nothing more than they had some suspcious actions AROUND Lelouche's mom. Either that or Lelouche's mom a TERRORIST herself who's trying to overcome Britannia. I mean she could marry the emperor for a motive ... like to seek revenge.

Yes. Lelouch is so *special* like that, isn't he. ^-^ Lol, the irony. Lelouch has made a whole lot of assumptions from the beginning about a family he left as a child, and about whose actual political and social affairs he could have actually understood very little of.
Date/Time: 2007-02-07 15:29 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] nanya-hime.livejournal.com
Well, he was a child back then and it's really tormenting for a child to know that your mom's killed and your father's doing nothing and even puts you on exile to a country that's battered with war (a.k.a. almost sending you to DIE). That makes me also wonder why the Emperor was SOOOO COLLLD. I mean even if he didn't love his wife, at least out of political gesture, he would order an investigation, right? A queen was MURDERED and the emperor's reaction only further confirmed my suspicions that he either was involved in his own wife's assasination, probably knowing her real identity or her connection with people whom he deemed as the ENEMY of Britannia, or she was in HIS way to achieve a certain purpose.

I just don't think the Emperor believes that it is his place to look after members of his family like that; if they can't look after themselves in the atmosphereofthe court(or be smart enough to get someone to do it for them if they can't look after themselves), then it's their failing and not his. The strong will survive. If someone is cunning enough to assassinate an Empress and get away with it, he probably thinks them the 'winner' and that's the end of the affair. How he genuinely felt in private, we'll never know I expect. He did marry her for some reason, after all.

Is anyone else getting a Cagalli/Athrun vibe from the island idea? Not the "pairing" but just the setup.

Yes, everyone. Except me. I don't know what the hell it means. Hooray! XD

Probably since C.C. is the only one who knows about Lelouch/Zero thing.

Geass currently has 25 eps but there were rumors of a second season (or a sequel, can't tell). Gundam SEED had 50 eps.

hmmmm. I'm thinking about the names of the mechas. In the Le Morte d'Arthur (probably spelled that wrong. its been a while since i had to read it), Gawain is shown as someone who greatly looks up to Lancelot and admires him. However, and don't trust me 100% on this, I think that Gawain, after Lancelot causes a conflict by having an affair with Gwynevere, at first supported Lancelot and tried to help him. But then I think Gawain's brothers were killed, so he swore vengeance on Lancelot, or something like that. He talks Arthur into going to war against Lancelot, and eventually, as he's dying, decides to forgive Lancelot. Kind of Explained at Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gawain#Gawain_in_French_literature)

So, in context here: Basically, it seems like Lulu kind of admires Suzaku right now, but he's getting to the point where he's going to have to betray him, etc. We'll have to see if we get a catalyst for any such betrayal. But in the end, they'll probably make up. Or who knows, the Japanese may not like the ending of the Le Morte d'Arthur and decide to make their own. ^__^

I just wonder if some kind of Gwynevere will show up soon. XD

But Lelouch sucks at poilting mecha..... maybe C.C. will be the one to actually use it....
do those 25 eps include the recap ones?

Lelouch is the SEVENTEENTH Prince of Britannia? Makes you wonder whatever happened to all the others between him and Clovis (the Third Prince).

And on another note, with the numerous princes and princesses, the Emperor of Britannia gets around disturbingly too well.

It might have 50 episodes on TV in total (combining the two seasons) but in reality it's only 46 because there are 2 recap episodes this season and probably the same next season...

Gawain and Avalon! They are totally having fun with the Arthurian names arn't they? Or maybe Schneizel is obsessed with Arthur and his knights. Since Lancelot is his and Gawain is possibly his.

Thanks for the scan and info!

I got the impression in the very first episode she appeared in that she was a stronger character than too many people have given her credit for. I agree that she doesn't have to have Geass to be strong. Perhaps her power is in her ability to sway the hearts and minds of the people - not even necessarily as a tactician.

Zero isn't being honest with the people that are following him - backing him, sure, he's being mostly honest. But the people fighting for him believe he's championing the cause of Japanese Independence at least on some level, and I think his actions have already put that facade at risk (hence Kaname is beginning to question) - mostly the part where he blew up the last of the Japanese Liberation Front (minus Toudou). That may also get him out of favor with even his backers if/when they find out (assuming they don't already know - and since Zero was sent to help the Japanese liberation Front, it seems likely the Kyoto (sp?) guys will be upset to find out Zero is the reason that the general and company are all DEAD).

Remember, too, that the intro to the episodes changed to point out that Lelouch was given 2 powers - the power of Geass and the power of the Order of the Black Knights. The first power, only CC can take away. The 2nd could be taken by anyone with the brains to figure out how and the correct forum to air Zero's dirty laundry.

Lelouch is using the Order as his private army to pursue his private vendetta. They're in for a very rude awakening (especially worshipful gullible Karen) when they find out the truth about their beloved leader. >:) He doesn't care about the liberation of Japan.

(He wasn't able to blow Toudou up because that would have involved Toudou being there and actually doing something; he's been almost wholly useless up to this point. I have an opinion on most every character in this series except him. He's that exciting. ^_____^)

Lelouch would be a fool to put CC in the mech with him. The fact that she's worked seperately is the only thing that's saved his ass on several occaisions.

Oh man, you guys, I have this fantastic idea for the island plot! They'll show up on different sides of the islands, and Kallen will pull out her gun and start shooting at Suzaku, and he'll own her with a knife, not realizing she's a girl until she screams. Then he'll just tie her up and she'll flail around in the water and get a crab up her bra. And then they'll hang out in a cave all night and she'll try to shoot him.

In the sequel, Kallen will almost marry Lloyd, only to be saved by Toudou in Strike Knightmare.

God, I come up with the most original ideas.

Oh yes, I've been feeling like the Black Knights would be in for a rude awakening for sometime. Although I wasn't entirely sure of it until I re-watched the episode where the Japanese Liberation Front met their end and I realized, ooooh no. Mr. Zero in fact BLEW THEM UP.

I was pretty sure he didn't give a fig about whether Japan was liberated - if they managed it in the wake of the destruction of Britannia, cool, otherwise, this is Lelouch/Zero not caring.

And Toudou, I didn't even register him the first time around. In episode 11, they start talking about him, and I'm like who? What? What guy, where? And then I rewatched episodes 1-8, and still missed him. And then rewatched episodes 1-5 (I've been pimping the series to friends as I drag them over to watch it), and that's when I was finally able to go: ooooh. Ok. Guy sitting in front of a katana with a Japanese flag in his vicinity doing nothing has a name. Got it.

Of course, watching episodes 9-11 and then going back and watching 5, I recognized Tamaki as the guy arguing with Suzaku. Bah. How are we ever supposed to keep track of some of these guys?

(Toudou better have a part one of these years. All those snippets and conversations discussing him better have a purpose, eventually!)
